Long story short… I finally went and got my rings sized. We decided on 5.25. When I got them back, though, they were way too tight! Something about the jeweler and I not accounting for the the width of the bands being wider than normal therefore me needing a bigger size. I took them back to him to get them “stretched,” but he stretched them unproportionally! My wedding band is now a 5.5 and my engagement ring is a 5.75. I told him I would wear the set to see how it felt/which was better. The fact that they are different is driving my crazy, but I don’t know which size is better for me! The 5.5 wedding band is kind of tight. Like, I can feel it. I slept in it alone last night and woke up with its indent in my finger, but my fingers are largest in the morning. I can get it on and off easily enough, but it’s deff on the snug side. It doesn’t give me “ring muffin top” though. The 5.75 seems to feel more comfortable, but I am unsure if that’s because I’m used to the ring being big (I wore it in its original size, a 7.5, for 8 months…) It doesn’t leave an indent, but it does spin a bit if my hands are cold. Neither can easily be removed by someone else.
I don’t know which to do because winter is coming, which by default will make my hands lose some of their swell. There’s also that whole wedding diet thing, which could also make my hands smaller before we get married. I am afraid that the 5.75 will be too big in winter, and then I will want to get them resized for my winter wedding. But I also want my fiance to be able to slide the wedding ring on easily enough for our ceremony! Uggh, I hate my indecisiveness. I just want the size that I will be happy with for years to come, and it’s so hard to know what that is! What do you think?
