Get it sized to a 5.25. If you're anything like me, it will help you maintain your weight. I find that if I start not fitting into my jeans, its time to stop with the oreos and turn on the Jillian.
I have a wring gaurd on mine. I have had it sized once but its just an intsy big still and rather than have it sized again I am just using the ring gaurd. After I get the wedding band sodered to it then I will have them sized a bit smaller or put some shots in it.
Do you mean a sizer? A spacer is usually a very thin, plain band worn between two rings that could otherwise scratch and damage each other (such as a wedding set with pave or shared prong bands). There are lots of different types of sizers, which will take up space between your ring and finger, though. You can get two tiny beads of metal (sizing beads) added to the inside of your band, or if it's thick enough, you could get a "horseshoe" (also called "butterfly") sizer added to the inside. Horseshoes won't usually work if your band is very thin, though. There are other kinds, but those are the most popular.
HL I was thinking about my own options and your post was very helpful!

I found a thread on a jewelry website that has photos of a few different kinds of sizers -- beads, horseshoe/butterfly sizers, and another kind called a "bridge." It might be helpful to see what they all look like and get people's comments about comfort, etc. Here it is: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=76529
The plastic ones in Mrs. Ballet Flat's post are a good temporary solution, but I wouldn't want to wear them all the time. I used them for a couple weeks when I first got my engagement ring, before I sent it out to be sized, and it just didn't feel like a good long-term solution.

I've never heard of these before ... but, my engagement ring is slightly too large. When I got my finger sized back in January it was a 5.5, but I've dropped about 30lbs since then. And also, not sure if anyone else has this probably, my knuckles are actually the most narrow part of my finger, I have no obvious knuckle bone at all ... I know most girls knuckles stop the ring from sliding too much.
It falls off if I give my hand a good couple of shakes (but really who does that on a regular basis), but still a little close to comfort. I dont' want to get it resized because I tried on my friends size 5 ring and its too snug, and also, I know my finger size will flactuate over the years, especially as I have kids.
Are ring spacers common ... like if I went to any jewellery store would they care them.
Any suggestions?
