I would stop trying for a bit and let your finger unswell.  Take some advil, and then try KY jelly.

Leave it alone for a while. Not 10 minutes, but a couple hours at least. Then, when the swelling from aggravating your finger has gone down, get your hands really cold. I mean like going outside without gloves on for several minutes if it’s really cold out, or dipping your hand in ice water for a couple minutes. My rings are loosest when my hands are cold and my skin is too dry, so lay off the lotion. Good luck!

@sherryberry:  take some time to let the swelling go down, and try the dental floss trick…wrap dental floss around your finger tight and your ring may slide off

Jewelers will tell you to try Windex to help the ring slide off. That might help once the swelling goes down.

@sherryberry:  I had this problem not long ago. It took me 6 hours before I got off my ring, and my finger was huge and red.  I tried using lube, creams, olive/coconut oil, ice/freezing and none of them worked.  Someone told me to tightly wind floss around my finger and spray windex on it for added slip.  This didn’t work out, but then I looped the floss under my ring (took a while to squeeze it through), I managed to slide/spin it off my finger.

Then I drank

I would leave it alone for a day or so. Try only at night when finger is smallest. Use ice, I lick the finger for Lubrication so I can keep it wet.. If not try this method I linked from you tube. I hope the link works. http://youtu.be/CSq_7e6DJMg

My fingers swell when they get cold. Dental floss trick works and Windex, you can combine them

@sherryberry:  try windex… Seriously. I went to a jeweler last year bc I couldn’t get a ring off and he sprayed me with windex and it came off

@sherryberry:  I don’t think you need to lose finger “weight”. that’s ridiculous. you just need to get your ring sized properly.
