That's cool! Beyonce and Jay-Z got ring tattoos, too. They tatooed the number 4?? I think 'cuz it means a lot to both of them... Maybe something that means a lot of both of you?
I don't have a wedding band tattoo, but the ones I have seen are neat! I know lots of people that get the same design, just smaller on the girl like this:
Others I have seen have the wedding date and last name inscribed in a fancy writing. It depends on what you want though!
What about on the underside of your finger? The larger portion of the tattoo could be there with a slim one around your finger as the ring.

Thanks guys! I wasn't planning on getting a full band, but those are all some really great suggestions. I was thinking about an infinity sign on the side of my finger but hmm...looks like I have some thinking to do!
I personally don't like the band tattoo but maybe get a little tiny heart on your finger.
Googled some examples...
A friend of mine got one like the 2nd photo and when her husband puts his hand over hers, it's the same tattoo. Overlapping tattoo, it's a cute idea.
If I was to consider doing this, I would make sure my heart was pink or red and his can be gray or just the outline of the heart.
I really like the idea, so I may do one, but I dont think my FH will ever get any tatoos. If you want it to be covered, maybe just a small line? Nothing fancy, so it isnt too interesting, but it could easily be covered.

D and i are considering doing marriage tattoos, but not ring tattoos. It'll be a tattoo we'll get that will have personal meaning to us, but wont be on our fingers. What we're getting is a design with lyrics to a song that means a lot to us.
We didn't get ring tattoos... but did get "wedding" tattoos. We both have always talked about being each other's missing piece of our hearts... (it was even in my vows) so we got puzzles pieces. His had a heart with my initials in it and mine linked into his heart and had some of that detail.
Lamar & Khloe got eachothers initials not on their ring finger tho.

Love the ideas! My FI is planning to get a ring tattoo b/c he broke his ring finger back in the day and never got it fixed... his knuckle is so huge there's no hope for getting a ring over it (without the uber expensive clasp one) so he opted for the tatt. I'm totally following for ideas as well! :)
you could get a small infinity symbol on the inside of your finger... where your fingers close together. Similar to this pic except much smaller, lower, and in between the fingers so no matter how large or petite ur ring is it will be covered and something special for just the two of you.

Um, first of all...sorry I kind of dropped off the face of the earth. My job got really crappy really fast, but I have a new one now and am a much happier lady. And I can't wait to chat weddings again!!
So here's what's going on...Mr. Octo wants to get ring tattoos. I am totally in favor of the idea (we both have multiple tattoos and I'm really excited about it). He has a big ring and therefore plenty of room to tattoo whatever he wants around his finger. I have tiny fingers and a very petite engagement ring and wedding band, and I want the tattoo to be covered...like an engraving but totally awesome.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should get? Do you have a ring tattoo?
