We picked up my completed custom ring yesterday. It's in plain brown box and I told my bf I don't want to see it until he proposes (I've seen the setting, but not since the stone was set). Well, he didn't bother hiding it!! So it's sitting in the dining room taunting me. He needs to come home and hide it so I'm not tempted to look! Ahhh - if you were me, would you have the willpower not to look when it's right in front of you?

I would definitely HAVE to look! It would be too hard not too when it's right there in your face

I wouldn't be able to restrain myself! My luck BF would walk in as I'm trying to get it off!

Don't look! there is no taking it back (looking at it) if you do. You can't change your mind about peeking once you've already done it.

Thanks girls. I haven't peeked yet, just gone over and shook the box a few times (I don't know why this brings me some relief, since it's not a wrapped present and I know whats inside).

I already texted him and told him he has to hide it. He doesn't care if I look or not, I'm the one that wants some element of surprise. He won't be home until late tonight but I'm sure he'll hide it when he gets here since I said something.

@flutterbi: that is hilarious that you go over and shake the box!!! I guess you already know what's inside, right?

When do you think he's going to propose? I hope it's tonight so you don't go nuts.

Don't look!!  Be strong!  You want HIM to see YOU when you see IT for the first time, right??  Right.

    I hope it happens tonight!!!!

@dreamingbee - yes, I do know what's inside. I don't know why I shake it, I guess I wonder if he took it out and hid it but left the box to throw me off (not likely the case).

And no, it likely won't be tonight, or even this week. He works until late into the night and I'm usually asleep when he gets home, than he leaves before I wake up. So unless he wakes me up to propose it's not going to happen in the next few days. Than on Wednesday I leave town and won't be back before Saturday - so it's not likely to happen before than.

Props to you for holding out! I have no willpower whatsoever. I'd be looking at it, trying it on and probably even taking pictures. LOL

Wow! You have so much will power! I can't help but search for any old regular gifts, I'd go nuts knowing my ring was so near by! But it's totally worth the wait, because the moment you see it... the best ever!

    Congrats!

Good for you for resisting temptation!  I think it would be *SO HARD* but, it will be so worth it when he's down on one knee and you see that sparkler for the first time.  Sounds like you're going to be "graduating" pretty soon - very exciting stuff.
