So the diamond in my ring fell out. It was a small diamond but it was totally noticeable. I kept joking to Fi how he should get me a temporary ring to hold me over while my engagement ring is getting repaired. COMPLETELY joking.
He got me another ring. Andrews Jewelers across town had a huge sale and he got me a pink sapphire ring for 93$ with a service plan (haha). I couldn’t believe it! I am soooooooooooo in love with it.
Here is the issue. I love my e-ring. But I am terrified of losing more diamonds because of the setting and having to do this all over again. Do I keep this new ring as a temp and just wear it in between fixings or do I just use it as my NEW AND IMPROVED e-ring. My e-ring has sentimental value to me because it was his mom’s but I just don’t want to have diamonds falling out all the time. But I love my ring! GAH.
I would post pics but this website hates me now. I’ll try links.

I think you posted the new one twice? But it really is gorgeous! You could always just wear whichever you feel like that day, or save the original for special occasions or something?

You posted the same picture twice 🙂

I would recommend talking to the jeweler to see if there’s a way to better secure the diamonds. I don’t think they should be falling out willy nilly. If that’s not possible without affecting the look of the ring (I know another bee who wrote about that), you might be stuch; they may just need to adjust the setting, though. How do you feel about wearing a ring that wasn’t the one he proposed with? I don’t think I could/would do it! And your e-ring is beautiful. Either way, there’s no reason to give up your pretty pink ring. Where it on a different finger or on your right hand. In some cultures, the engagement ring is worn on the right hand anyway!
Hmm, I’m not sure that’s the most useful, but that’s my take. I think you should stick with your e-ring if possible

They’re both beautiful, but I think your e-ring looks amazing on you!

Gotta say I prefer you original as an e-ring. The other is pretty but more of a right hand ring look.

I agree, I like the e-ring better for an e-ring but….
I almost never wear my e-ring. :-X I love it, it’s beautiful, but I tend to wear my promise ring when I know I’m going to be working with my hands. I think it’s just about what makes you feel comfortable. When I’m going out in public or with friends or on a date with FH, I always wear my e-ring.
By The Way, my aunt has a gorgeous 6 ct heirloom ring and she never wears it. She just wears a plain band. So it’s really about comfort!!!

I love your original e-ring. is there a reason why the pave’s are falling out? I would have your jeweler look at it.
The new one is beautiful too…why don’t you wear it as a right hand ring?

We are going to purchase an insuranse for both of our rings. If anything happens to them the insurance will replace the appraisal cost.

New ring looks like something Fiance wanted to get me as a stand-in. I didn’t want him to spend 50-100 dollars on a stand-in, so I ended up with a science-rock.
You could swap them, use the new ring as a daily ring, and the old one as a fancy occasion ring. I usually wear my science-rock when I’m concerned about the stones in my fancy ring.
Also: Your nail polish is awesome.
