I posted yesterday about a ring I inherited and have thought about giving my boyfriend as a choice to use (he is still open to do whatever he likes of course but we are at the point of actively looking at rings and our timeline is engagement in the next 8 months). My problem is I am deeply drawn to sapphires and this ring is a cluster diamond.
Since the ring needs to be replated and taken down regardless (it sits ridiculously high) I have thought about possibly adding a blue sapphire halo around the cluster set.
Do any bees out there have a ring with a colored halo? I see a lot of sapphires with diamond halos but not a lot of the opposite!

I don’t. But it sounds like such a pretty idea!

jsecret87 : Google Sapphire target rings. You’ll see a ton. I love them!

They are all SO beautiful , go ahead OP, get yours surrounded by a lovely blue sapphire halo.
(isn’t ‘sapphire’ a gorgeous word !)

Yes my ring is busy! It’s a double halo with pink diamonds and rose gold inner halo. I’m waiting to have the diamond set .

jsecret87 : I love the idea of having these diamonds reset into a halo + sapphires. I didn’t even notice that was a cluster at first. It was very sweet of your dad to put aside that ring for you but yeah… it’s set too high and has all that empty space. You’re suggestion would honor his gift and give you a gorgeous ring. Keep us posted!

Absolutely! Here’s my 1920s engagement ring – old mine cut diamond surrounded by French cut emeralds. I love the uniqueness of a coloured halo.

Obviously my center stone is colored, but the inner halo is colored.
