This is so sad... I was hoping he'd beat it. After all this Kanye crap I wish they could be trading places... Patrick Swayze was a great talented man. RIP

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i love that movie and watch it every time the rerun is on... i am in tears.

I was 8 years old when Dirty Dancing came out. my mom thought I was too young to watch it - so my aunt rented it one weekend that I was spending the night and hooked 2 vcr's together and made me a copy! lol. Literally ever since that night DD became my absolute most favorite movie of ALL TIME and ALWAYS WILL BE.
I am so very very sad. :(

i am sad too... like way sadder than i think i should be i'm in tears.... i remember wanting to be baby because i was ackward and nerdy, never the girl guys wanted to date and he was so cool and sweet and macho and he taught her how to dance and i loved him in roadhouse and ghost and i'm in tears..... damn how many celebrities have died this year?! my heart can't take much more.

Sooooo sad, somehow I was really hoping he would be able to beat it!
I am so sad to learn of this, especially sad for his wife who has been by his side for over 24 years.
A big loss, but he left a beautiful legaciy of work, life, and love behind him.

So sad - but he really put up a good fight! They gave him 6 months to live, he made it over 2 years! I guess he is Dirty Dancing in heaven now!
RIP Patrick. This news -- and the Taylor Swift / Kanye West thing -- was among the first I heard after we returned from our honeymoon.

Sad, sad news... It has just been reported that the fabulous and oh so talented Patrick Swayze has lost his battle to pancreatic cancer.
I am just shocked right now. Dirty Dancing was my best friend from high school & my favorite movie! We even quoted it on our senior pages! Do any of you have as fond memories as Patrick as I do? Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Point Break, Donnie Darko...
but he'll always be Johnny Castle to me!
