    Hi everyone,

I am desperately trying to make a decision on wedding venues.  Has anyone had their own wedding or attended a wedding at the Rivercrest Golf Club in Phoenixville?  It seems pretty nice but someone I work with said that they went to a wedding there and the food was awful and now I'm worried.  Any info. about your personal experiences would be helpful!

I didn't go to a wedding there...it was a fund raising event, but the food and setup were both really nice. I would recomend it!

My Best friend got married there and the Wedding was amazing!  She went with the Stations menu (different stations in corners of the room - pasta, asian, etc.) and the food was delicious.  I would def recommend this as a venue to consider.

It was in my top 2...my in-laws are actually members.  I ended up not having my wedding there though.  It's a really pretty space, clean and well-kept, and just plain nice.  I chose Manor House at Commonwealth because I thought it had more a unique feel.  Rivercrest had too much of a generic wedding ballroom feel for me and I wanted a venue my guests would really remember.  Whenever we have dinner with my inlaws at Rivercrest, the food is decent.  My parents went to a wedding after mine and said it was lovely but they were glad I chose Manor House instead.  Just being honest...that was our opinion.

A co-worker had her wedding there this year & loved it. She spent a huge amount of $$ on the reception. Our wedding will be at LaMassaria in Gilbertsville-very cploes by. I am so pleased with the way they have worked with us. I feel that it is agreat value for the money and it is just beautiful there. The hall was a stone stable that was built 200 yrs ago- it is modern & elegant but unique and understated. Best of luck to you.

I went to a fundraising event there and the set up was really nice.  I can't really remember the food - so that means it was fine.  You could have some beautiful pictures there

I recently went to a wedding at RiverCrest, and I have to say I was truly impressed.  The venue itself is gorgeous, and extremely photogenic…I saw my friend’s proofs and they are awesome!  As well, I thought the food was amazing.  Everyone at my table raved about how excellent their food was, not to mention lots of it!  Also, I have to say that the staff was so friendly and helpful.  I spilled red wine on my dress, and a female server took me into a private room to help me get the stain out of my dress. Total lifesaver! All around, I would absolutely recommend RiverCrest….I am looking at it for my own wedding!  Smile

I went to a wedding there in May 2009 and it was very beautiful.  They had their ceremony by the pool and it was a large space but very intimate.  The cocktail hour was amazing!  I would recommend getting a cake from a bakery though.

I'm a member at Rivercrest.  Didn't have my wedding there, but have attended a few.  My family did have a communion party there and for that, the food was wonderful!  However, wedding food has been OK, certainly not the best.  When we've dined there for dinners, the food has been awful.  It's unfortunate because the surroundings are lovely and the golf course is great.  Everything is very well maintained, which would make for beautiful pictures, but, for me, I think it would be more important to have delicious food for my guests.  One more note: if you do decide to have it at Rivercrest, get you cake elsewhere.  Their cakes are horrible!

I actually decided on another venue but since then I have still gotten not so favorable reviews about the food so I'm happy I decided against it.
