I once stayed at the Moon Palace outside of Cancun and loved it!  Beautiful rooms, all have ocean facing jacuzzis, and the largest pool in Mexico.  You just swim from bar to bar…

My sis and bil went to the Rosewood Mayakoba and loved it!  There’s an all inclusive option there too!

Depends on your budget.  How much you looking to spend?

Check out Secrets resorts and Dreams resorts.  Check out tripadvisor.com and put in rivera maya and the top 10 top rated resorts wil be shown.

I just came back from my honeymoon in the rivera maya at Secrets Silversands.  It’s not a perfect resort because the beach is not the best.  But me and my DH loved it.  We knew about the so so beach before hand so we weren’t suprised.  I spent $2800 for 7 day trip including airfare from Seattle.  I had a amazing time.  Secrets Silversand is an adult only all inclusive.  So good honeymoon location.  If you have more money to spend, I heard Secrets Maroma and Secrets Capri have excellent beaches.  Plus all the staff are great.  They all have top shelf liquor.

Here is my post of our hm.

We are going to The Royal in Riviera Maya and can’t wait. We booked a great deal with one of my cousins who works for FunJet. She stays in a lot of resort places and highly recommended it. As was said above, DEFINITELY thoroughly read reviews on TripAdvisor.

We stayed at the Occidental Grand Xcaret. We found a great deal $699 for  7 day all inclusive from Vancouver BC.

The resort is only a few minutes ride  taxi  south of Playa del Carmen and right next to the Xcaret eco park-free admission from the hotel.

The food was amazing- the best I’ve ever had at any all inclusive. The resort itself had everything we could want-great rroms, wonderful staff, spa services, entertainment every night

We’re going to the Excellence Playa Mujeres, and looked a lot at the others on Riviera Maya as well.  Decided that, for the price, we like the EPM a lot more, but would have gone to the Secrets Maroma Beach in a heartbeat if we could afford it.

Cost us $3100 for 6 nights from Newark. Haven’t gone yet, but am super stoked!

Yes!  We love the Palace Resorts!  We upgraded our membership in November we LOVE it so much.  This includes the Moon Palace Bellanga mentioned.  It’s 5 star all-inclusive.  Check out their website.  If you decide to go there go ahead and PM me, because each Palace Resort has it’s own personality.  I think Palace Resorts is the BEST!  (We hate to come home)-well, maybe hate is too strong-but we can’t wait to return-for sure!!! lol  🙂 Rhonda

@julies1949: This is where we are thinking of booking. Might book today. I would love to hear about your experience there. Also, how did you get free admission to the eco park? The only thing I wish we could do that I haven’t been able to find is a romantic dinner on the beach or outside at the resort. Did you do any honeymoon packages?

@jeffloveschrissy:  sent you a PM but I am sure the hotel would also be happy to arrange a private dinner for you somewhere on the grounds.

@FMM:  We stayed at the grand sunset princess on Jan 2010. I would reccomend upgrading to platinum… if you are not already booked for platinum. We had a giant tub on our balcony and in our bathroom. Its is a beautiful resort, super clean and great food. Go to the fondue al a carte! Also the thai restarant on the beach is super romantic for dinner. -not included in the all inclusive unless you book platinum. The beach is very nice, lots of palpas and chairs. This would be an awesome honeymoon resort. Just make sure you take a comfortable pair of shoe’s as the resort is rather large and you do a lot of walking. Also take bug spray…as I found the mosquitoes to be quite bad in the evening..

we paid about $1200 pp, which is an awesome last minute deal… we were jungle veiw platium suite.
