For those of you whose e-ring came from Robbins Bros., did you purchase separate insurance for your ring on top of the lifetime warranty that RB offers for free with every diamond purchase?
Second question: my e-ring diamond and setting are both from RB, but I am toying iwth the idea of having the princess cut diamond re-set in a halo setting by another jeweler. I’m assuming if I have the RB diamond re-set by someone else, this will negate the RB warranty and all the free concierge services that RB offers (e.g. inspections, cleaning, etc.)??

It does mess up their warranty. I would talk to them about it, but be very careful. I kept getting different stories from different associates and had a reallly sour experience with RB. Just be careful.

I bought insurance for my engagement ring and 1 of my wedding bands. I figured if I lose 1, I’ll still be able to replace it.
And LLauRR is right, it will mess up their warranty.

FYI. Robbins Bros just filed Chapter 11. I would not necessarily count on any promises of service in the future.

Yes they did! We purchased my diamond (not the settting) at Robbins Brothers in Houston where we live. We just received a letter last week that all of the Houston locations are closed. I’m upset because we purchased warranties, etc. The letter explained that Helzberg Diamonds would honor SOME of the warranties that the Houston branches gave. Buyer Beware.
