Maybe a Kodak disposible camera? It all started here! It might be fun to take a pic of you and your FI holding signs like "Thanks for Coming". It will be a fun surprise for them when they develop the camera.
French's Mustard started here as well. You could get them a bottle and put a cute tag on it.
I've been working on this as well. I was trying to think of snacks native to Rochester and I am getting nowhere.
Yeah, anything is a bottle of something: mustard, hot sauce, bbq sauce...and think it would be cool to do snacks, I just know that not everyone likes some of this stuff. It's so hard. I like the disposable camera, especially since my dad works there, but I'm not sure if guests would use it, just because it's film, not digital....you know?
Yeah, I was thinking that too. And I tend to use them but not develop them.
I thought about a local wine (since we are technically Finger Lakes Wine Region). Casa Larga is the town over from my town so I thought about getting splits from there. But it costs more than I was hoping.
I will keep thinking!
Yeah. The only thing I can think of that's cheap is jello, but that's from LeRoy, not exactly Rochester.
I just saw a Stever's candy commercial and thought I bet they do wedding chocolate molds or something wedding related. You can try there. They are on Park Ave. near Berkley.
We came up with out OOT snacks last night while at Wegmans; Wegmans brand snacks! Wegmans is native to Rochester and most of our OOTers were once Rochesterians and miss Wegmans like crazy. It's not the BEST solution but it works for us!
I love the Weggie idea - totally Rochester! I don't have a green thumb, but could you get lilac seeds for people to plant? That could be cheaper than some food items
@Chamgpagne,
That is actually a GREAT idea!!! Anyone from the general area (even outside of Rochester) would know Wegmans!!!
You should totally put the items in a Wegmans Eco Bag!!!
I'd love to do the eco bag from Weggies & put some weggies snacks in. We'll have to see how much it costs & how many I need to buy! :) I was thinking of buying bulk stuff @ Sams for food.

I'm going to make OOT bags, and wanted to include one item that's unique to Rochester in the bags. I'm not sure what to do. There are companies that are unique to Rochester, and lots of food items, but I don't want to spend a ton of money on 20 bags.
Ideas?
