- Wedding: June 2012
There are many reasons why I love my photographer. This is one of em! We were married 4 days ago and she already has us in our “sneak peek” online. AMAZEBALLS.
So, you guys may remember the mishaps that happened the week leading up to our wedding. Our wedding bands never arrived, I got poison ivy on my nose, and our main flowers were fumigated in flight and replaced with peonies (peonies!)
Like a poster on that thread said, worst case scenario, I would get some cheap stand in rings, get a good coverup, and carry a gorgeous peony bouquet. And thats exactly what happened.:)
We arrived at the barn @ Fallingwater friday early morning to set up with the bridal party. Friday we knocked out stringing lights, setting up the linens, napkins, centerpieces, glass vases, lanterns, table placements, and other various DIY touches. We rushed through rehearsal and ate a delicious dinner at the Stone House Inn. We gathered at the Trillium Lodge Friday evening to have our Welcome Party where I hung out with cousins of mine that I hadn’t seen in 18 years!
Saturday, the boys and various friends and family members headed to the ceremony site behind the barn at 6:30 to set up our ceremony benches. Yes, we brought those with us and DIYed them after buying the slabs/legs from another bride who never got to use them. They were beautiful! And we sold them to Fallingwater after the ceremony for future brides to use. (They had previously used hay bales and rented chairs.) So, future Fallingwater brides: You are welcome. 😉
Comparatively, the girls and I had an easy morning. We went to the barn around 9:30 and did our bouquets and flowers there, as well as a couple last minute decoration set ups. And, guys? Doing our own flowers was probably the least stressful DIY element we had. I 100% recommend it! And take it from a flower arranger novice: wiring succulents for bouquets/boutonnieres is EASY. You can do it!
Okay, I have a lot more to say, and I’ll do a fuller all day recap when I’m not on my honeymoon (took advantage of my husband being in the shower to post!) but for now, here are a couple guest pics and our photog’s blog!!
And our amazing photographer’s blog:
Our day could not have been better!
