So here it is, the reception inside the Barn @ Fallingwater.
We ran late most of the day, so we didn’t get to attend the cocktail hour like I had wanted. I did manage to snag half of a pulled pork slider while the guests were ushered into the barn for the reception. 😉
(Sorry for the fuzzy pics. The bee isnt accepting some of them from my computer, just the ones I’ve downloaded again off my facebook…)
First, the details that we all worked so hard on:
My centerpieces were made from old siding off of my parents house that they still had sitting around their yard. My dad made them into planter boxes for me. We filled them with moss and river rocks. The branches are sycamore, which are really beautiful! Their bark sheds and the branches have really pretty patterns. I collected those that had fallen from a walking trail, and we tied/glued sola wood flowers onto them.
The glasses I collected from antique stores and thrift stores for about a year.
A couple non- pros: Here is our wedding welcoming sign! I stained it and painted the letters, my brother in law drew on the stencil, and my sister painted it in!
After the guests were properly welcomed, we flipped it over and it became our guest book:
Our escort “cards:”
My grandma’s nutroll recipe, carried on by my mom:
The cookie table was overflowing! I so wish I had gotten to try them; there were so many leftover after the wedding–even with our to-go bags–but we didn’t have much of a chance to pig out on them before the honeymoon.
The bride and groom signs I stained and made my own stencils for and painted on the lettering….it was painstaking!
Our gift table had our parents’ wedding portraits on it, as well as an old cloth placemat of my grandma’s. I had altered my mom’s dress and wore it to our rehearsal dinner!
