- Wedding: August 2014
We are getting married in a venue that will have the ceremony and cocktails in the same space. It’s a fairly large space but we are going to have 170 guests.
I am concerned my guests will be watching the chairs for the ceremony get folded up/taken down while they wait for their first cocktail or appetizer. We are not really doing much else as part of the flip as we have the reception and dancing in another area. The high top cocktail tables will already be ready to go, we will just need to put out as soon as the chairs are folded.
Here are the options FI and I can think of right now:
1- Standing ceremony: I am concerned this will be too hot/uncomfortable for our guests.
2- Benches vs Chairs: Perhaps benches would be faster to move out of the area?
3 – A “getaway” exit: Would get our guests out of the cocktail area for a solid 10 minutes, leaving plenty of time for the “flip”.
4- Temporary “Barn Door”: to separate ceremony site from cocktail area. We could move this out as soon as chairs are cleared.
Thoughts? Would appreciate any advice!
