I am fairly new!
I am dying to see everyone’s rose gold engagement rings/sets. I initially told my Fiancé I wanted rose gold, because I am fair, and have a pink-ish undertone to my skin. The center stone is Morganite (I originally wanted a champagne diamond, but it turns out they are much more expansive than I would have ever thought!) with VVS1 diamonds on the band. I think he did a lovely job, and also had the wedding band made at the same time. I am somewhat insulted when someone says to me that rose gold is a “fad” and that it will “soon be out of style..” isn’t that so with most things? Who cares! Get what you like now. It’s not like you can’t change it 10 years from now.
I have a few questions:
-How is your rose gold band perceived? I seem to get a lot of silent stares.
-what color ring does your hubby wear?

Please feel free to comment even if you don’t have a RG ring!

I got my wedding band in rose gold and I love it. Everyone I’ve shown it to loves it as well. My fiancé likes it because its similar to yellow gold which is what his band is. Don’t worry about the people saying its a fad or trendy. People also say that about halos which have been around since the Victorian age. Technically lace dresses are trendy right now (considering that trendy means something that is popular at that particular point in time) and yet everyone says its classic…to each their own. As long as you love it that’s all that matters!
I think your ring is beautiful!!

Love your ring! I’m not engaged yet, but I told my SO that I want a plain rose gold solitaire. Like you, I have fair skin with pink undertones, and I love the look of it. I wear a rose gold watch, earrings, other rings, etc. all the time, so I don’t think anyone would be too surprised if I got a rose gold engagement ring too. Congrats on your engagement!

Oooo I love rose gold and morganite… kinda wishing I thought of that before I got my set.
I am not married yet but here is a photo I snuck of my set. Its rose gold cast from willow twigs. I am also getting a third super thin half eternity rose gold band to wear at work.
The most common comment I get is “What is that??” lol I dont mind I will take off my ring and show people and then the compliments come!

You have a gorgeous ring!! Yes, people might be startled when they see it and say unnecessary things like “it might be a fad”, but it’s because they don’t know any better. Rose gold has been used for a long time. It’s vintage! hehe It’s gaining popularity, and looks so good on many skin tones. Going for rose gold is great because you get to stand out a little 😉
Rose gold is such a beautiful metal alloy!!!! I’m personnaly in love with it, head over heels, hehe. I own two bands, one thin one I stack, and one wider one I wear alone.

1. People say it looks like copper.
2. DH’s band is white gold.

My engagement ring is rose gold with a green sapphire. Most people don’t even realize it’s an engagement ring at first since it’s not traditional in any sense. However, once they do, most tend to tell me it’s “very me” – which I always take as a compliment whether it was intended that way or not 🙂 I absolutely love my ring and really, isn’t that all that matters?
Also, my SO hasn’t officially picked his ring yet, but he’s leaning toward a wood/titanium combo. While I saw a number of gorgeous rose gold rings for men, he’s still more of a silver-colored guy.
