i'm so sorry marigold. i'll have your family in my prayers, and am sending hugs from idaho!
I'm so sorry to hear that your family is having a bad time. I hope that everything works out okay.
:( :( :(
I'm so sorry. Those are both awful things, and for both of them to happen in the same day is extra hard.
*hugs*
Oh Marigold, I'm sorry your family is go through this! How sad... you're all in my thoughts & prayers.
(hugs)
Thanks ladies. I think (I hope) my uncle will be okay, but it's kind of scary... my aunt (his and my mom's sister) already passed a few years ago from ovarian cancer and I think my grandma and my mom will both be devastated if it turns out to be any worse. And I didn't know my great-aunt at all, but I know my dad was close with her (lived in the house while he was growing up and helped raise him) and I know he's pretty upset.
Ug, what a day!
((HUGS)) I'm so sorry... I will be thinking of you and your family.
Bee hugs! I'm sorry for you and your family. Sending you happy thoughts!
Wow, that's a double whammy, one-two punch, I'm so sorry Marigold!
I hope everything works out ok :(
I'm sorry about this sad news Marigold... it kind of puts all of our silly wedding issues in perspective when the very people we want to celebrate our wedding day with are so ill or could pass away. I hope that everything turns out okay, and i'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
xoxo
My gosh, Marigold! That's just awful. :( I'm so sorry. :( I'm sending positive vibes to both of your family members right now and hoping for full, quick recoveries.
Hugs hugs hugs! I'm sorry that your family has to deal with so much at one time.
I'm so sorry. :( We're all thinking about you and I'm sending good vibes for your family!
I'm so sorry for the tragedies in your family right now! *hugs* I hope your Aunt miraculously makes it through and they figure out your uncle's problem ASAP!
You all are so wonderful! I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
Just as an update of sorts, I don't know if it's been confirmed yet, but my mom is telling me that it was the pituitary tumor and not a stroke with my uncle, so he'll be having surgery in the next few days to remove it. He knew about the tumor before, but as it hadn't been causing problems until now, he hadn't wanted to undergo brain surgery. It looks like he won't have a choice now.
My great aunt is doing *very* badly. I'll hear from my dad again about it tonight (he's at a 13-hour time difference right now, I think!) but they expect she will be gone by the end of the week. :(
I'm sorry for all your pain Marigold. I wish you and your family the best. Lots of Hugs!
Argh, it's worse than we thought... it wasn't a stroke, it was TWO strokes. :( He had the first one before going to the hospital and they admitted him because his speech was coming out as gibberish but they "couldn't figure out what was wrong" with him and didn't treat him for the stroke... meanwhile he had a second stroke this morning in the hospital before they finally figured out what was going on. I hope he'll be okay.
Wow Marigold. I hope everything turns out good for the both of them. Your family is in my family's thoughts and prayers. Sending hugs your way
So sorry to hear about this. Always seems like when it rains it pours! I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers and think good things!

This morning my uncle was admitted to the hospital--he either had a stroke or the benign tumor on his pituitary gland has been causing problems with his speech (garbled nonsense speak that has been coming and going all day). Then this evening my dad called... he is visiting family internationally and apparently the day before he left his aunt (my great-aunt) burned herself while cooking and is burned over 30% of her body and will probably pass in the next few days (he's spent most of his trip visiting with her in the hospital so far). It's just... kind of a sad day. :(
