@futuremrsslp:  I think it’s worth it. I wouldn’t spend that much normally, but I’m sure per glass/drink would end up costing more?

it’s worth it! we just did the soda package bc we wanted to drink boozy drinks, and I would do it again! The drinks on the ship are pretty pricey, but whatever, it’s a cruise! I say if you’d just drink beer and wine as your alcoholic drinks to go for it!

@futuremrsslp: It depends on how much the drinks are and whether you like to drink, I guess.  I would guess they’re pretty expensive since the cruise has a captive audience and a monopoly on booze and soda.  If they’re $6-8 per drink and you think you’ll have 5-6+ a day plus soda, I’d do it.  For us, we’d definitely booze it up – vacation and all 😉

PS, who care what your parents think!  Do your really want their advice on whether you should get an all-you-can-drink pass?!  Of course they’re going to say it’s a waste of money to discourage endless boozing.

Not worth it. Just drink the free lemonade/ice tea, and pack a few bottles of wine in your luggage. Now the espresso package? That was worth it because I am pathetically addicted to caffeine.

@futuremrsslp:  I don’t really drink that much, so it wouldn’t be worth it for me.

how many days at sea is your cruise? If you don’t have that many, it might not be worth it. Especially if you will be going off of the ship a lot.

How many days at sea do you have? If you only have 1-2 days at sea then no it’s not worth it unless you aren’t going ashore. When they dock and you’re gone all day, you won’t be using the package. We went earlier this month on RC and got the non-alcohlic package bc I’m 20 and it wasn’t really worth it. I got a few daquiris and sodas (you can use your package at Coco Cay so that helps) but it wasn’t worth $20 a day. Honestly I wouldn’t get the package because you will likely spend $40 or less a day on drinks and won’t feel like you have to buy them to get your moneys worth.

@futuremrsslp:  They are totally and 100% worth it IF you like to drink.

We got ours on Celebrity cruises, and loved it! We upgraded to the Premium package, so basically we could have almost any drink available on their menus.  It also let us try a lot of different drinks that we wouldn’t have had before, and if you don’t like the drink, you can just get another.  We actually got our package for free due to a promo they were offering at the time, which was pretty sweet.  Drinks on board our cruise ranged from $6-$12, with some of the wines and specialty stuff (scotch, whiskey, etc) being higher.

All said and done, by the end of our 7 day cruise, our printout for the cruise showed that we had drunk the equivilent in $2000 of drinks.  DH and I thought it made the cruise so much more fun…no receipts to sign, could try whatever we wanted, never had to worry if we were overspending on alcohol.

@futuremrsslp:  You can pack your own wine, but you have to drink it in your room. That’s fine with me! I’m classy so I brought a box of wine on my last cruise and called it a party.

@HannahGrace:  I’m pretty sure grats were included in the package.  It might differ from cruise line to cruise line though.

@PeachSnapple:  Thanks!  We are on NCL so I will have to read the fine print to decide on packages 🙂

I wouldn’t, but DH and I were all about the mixed drinks! So just beer and wine wouldn’t have worked for us.
