eecuadrado:  Wait until the deadline. Maybe he has childcare issues, or his wife has another function and they’re trying to decide what to do, impossible to know. He hasn’t done anything wrong by not replying yet. If you are really worried, can you make 2 alternative seating chart possiblities with and without him?

If he has until the 20th, he has until the 20th. I’d  be annoyed if I was invited to a wedding and the couple was bugging me about my RSVP weeks before it was even due. Like PP said, maybe make an alternate seating chart in case he is unable to make it.

eecuadrado:  Wait. My boss didn’t RSVP and the next day after the deadline I asked her about it at work. She said she hadn’t gotten back to me because they were trying to determine whether or not they would be in town that weekend.

Yes. Wait. If the deadline os the 20th, it’s not cool to ask before then.

Wait until the deadline, why should he have to decide earlier than everyone else whether or not he’s coming? You should pick a deadline that will give you plenty of time to make the seating arrangements.
