I didn’t have anyone write in extra guests either! There were a few to track down, but we knew they were all “no” anyway. It wasn’t that big of a deal.

Our room held 120 people and we had 120 people exactly! Everything was perfect 🙂

lollygagon:  Words cannot describe how jealous I am of you. I deadline was YESTERDAY and I’m still missing responses from about 60 people.

lollygagon:  how awesome!

We haven’t sent our invitations out yet. But, I hope I fool-proofed mine.

I plan on writing the names of the guest in on the RSVP card. We will also be putting “____ seats reserved in your honor” and then at the bottom put “_____ out of ____ persons attending” and filling in that last blank with the same number as “seats reserved”. Hopefully it works!

My 1st daughter to marry had all but 2, of 250 people invited, RSVP by 10 days before her due date. (And we never heard from those 2 – my brother in law and his wife, so we didn’t bother inviting them to the 2nd wedding). RSVPs were primarily done through her wedding website, but also e-mail, talking to people, texting, etc. 225 said yes, for a 3-day holiday weekend and no one added or asked about their kids (it was 21+). A couple of guys were in long term relationships – friends of the groom’s, that he hadn’t told me about, so there were 2 additions to the list. For my 2nd daughter, I’m dreading it a bit. Getting people to RSVP for the shower, is like pulling teeth. And everyone was notified when the date was going to be, 5 months ago. (Both sent-out save the date magnets 10+ months before their weddings and had wedding websites set-up and written on the magnets).  RSVPs don’t have to be a nightmare; sometimes it took a “I expect you’re coming to the wedding. What do you and your husband want, as an entrée?” question, when we saw the invited guests.

lollygagon:  That’s awesome! Not so lucky over here. Already had one mail the RSVP card completely blank, another scratch out the “1 seat in your honor” and write TWO and put a guest down, people not selecting a meal option. I’m taking it all in stride 🙂

With 9 days remaining until our due date deadline, I am hoping I have the SAME results. However, my list is looking grim, as far as ‘still waiting on’ cards, because we are only getting approximately 1-2/day in the mail!!!  However, of those that graciously turned them in, they have all been filled out perfectly.  No add-on’s, no confusion…EXCEPT for one person whom declined, but did not write in a name.  Easy peasy as I numbered each RSVP card on the back with their corresponding # on my spreadsheet.  I figured it out in no time at all 🙂
