Our wedding is a three part event. 30 people will be invited to the ceremony and dinner (to meet my objective of a small wedding) and 200 (including the ceremony folks) will be invited to the evening cocktail reception with heavy hors d oeuvres. Confused yet? And it's an adult-only event (yay extra layer of issues!).

So, here's what I have for the reception only folks for their RSVP cards:

We hope to celebrate our special day with you!

Kindly reply by the 27th of August.

    Mr. and Mrs. NAME

____ of 2 adults will attend.

And here's what I have for those invited to all three elements (currently we're looking at offering only a chicken dish, so if there's vegetarians or others with dietary needs an indication that they should let me know if they need a special meal):

We hope to celebrate our special day with you!

Kindly reply by the 27th of August.

    Mr. and Mrs. NAME

____ of 2 adults will attend.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Is it necessary to say "adults" on there?  I would think that if you are only inviting Mr. and Mrs. so and so, and the card says ________ of 2 attending, then they should get the picture that it is just them invited.

Does your invitation say adults only anywhere else?

What about changing the second card to just say, please let us know if you would like us to reserve a vegitarian meal for you.

@caszos - thanks for the input! One of the wordings I found via google included adults, so I just went with it unedited.

And I know we have at least one guest with food allergies, so I need to have the "special needs" to indicate that what we've selected may not meet her "I won't die if I eat this" requirements.

Is this all that's supposed to appear on the RSVP cards? After working on all the other copy-heavy things, it just looks so . . . short.
