I figured it’d be best to come to all of you for your opinions!
Wedding is October 25. We have already sent out StDs. No one is really “far away”; max a couple hour drive (but hotels will be booked).
When do I send out my invites and when do I ask for them to reply by?
I know that the “norm” is send it 8 weeks before… but is this before the wedding date or before the RSVP By date? My venue only needs numbers 2 weeks before the wedding, so am I safe with the norm of 4 weeks prior for the RSVP by date? (keeping in mind my invites will end up sent in the summertime and people will be on vacation/more carefree and forget to RSVP lol…)
What did you do? 🙂 ty!

@kristen182: 8 weeks before the wedding date. Most people will send it back to you soon after they get the invite.

It would all depend on when your vendors need final counts. Our vendors need 30 days before the wedding, so we adding an addition two week deadline. Wedding is May 31st, RSVP deadline by April 15th. We sent out invitations by end of January… suffice notice.

@kristen182: Figure out how much time you’ll need after the RSVP deadline to track people down and get your final numbers, and then work back from there. I would say to give yourself at least 4 weeks after the deadline, so the RSVP deadline would be September 25. Then, add 2 months to that to send the invites out: that’s early August. So, send them out August 1st with an RSVP deadline of September 25.
