Pixienickie:  80 sent out and we had all but 5 RSVPs come back on-time.  The others we were able to call and had the final number just a few days after the RSVPs.    I think we just got lucky as some people have a really rough time with getting people to RSVP

I think the online and such an early deadline affect that a lot, although we had a lot of guests not RSVP. I’d wait until 2 weeks before number are due to start calling because its hard to plan that far out

Pixienickie:  that RSVP date is way too early. I know your doing a lot of projects yourself but you will still have to call people.

Wait until at least 2 to 3 weeks before the wedding to get the rest of the responses

Wow, I’m getting married before you and I just mailed my invitations today!  That’s extremely early.  I’d wait until a few days before numbers are due and then start calling.  Also if the deadline was just a day or two ago, sometimes people don’t mail them until on the actual deadline.

That RSVP date is just too early. We had to track a LOT of our invitees down so it looks like you will have to do the same. You kind of set yourself up for that unfortunately. When does your venue need the head count by? I would start reaching out about a week (or 2?) before that.

Like you we needed to know numbers way in advance so we basically just asked everyone who’d go, and then just sent out the invitations to those who’d come as a formality. In return we got all but one RSVP’d back in time with no ‘nos’.

Unless it’s something people need to buy plane tickets for, many people might not be thinking about the logistics of going to your wedding until it’s about a month or so out.
