Just say, "It's so great that you're excited to come to our wedding, and we are very excited to see you! Unfortunately, we wish you guests could attend as well, but our venue is very limited in space. I'm sure you understand, and I really hope that you can come and have a great time anyways!"
And don't feel bad about it, period. These people were the rude ones, and not you--there is no way you can really be rude about disinviting their non-invitee guests. Good luck!

Our wedding invitations went out about 2 weeks ago and we are getting responses back which is very exciting! We are getting a fair of amount of responses back which is great! Lots of people wanting to come, YIPPEE!
...BUT we are having people invite guests to the wedding that were NOT given a guest to bring. Our reception site can only 250 people, exactly. Our wedding is on January 2, so having it on a holiday might make people not come, but on the opposite end of the spectrum, lots of people might come! I am really worried and nervous about having to call these people and explain about not being able to have their 'uninvited' guest come to the wedding.
Any good reccommendations of what to say? Anyone been in this situation before? Anything just to make me feel better right now? Thanks!
