Aww!! I know what you mean about wanting everyone to attend. But on the other hand, at least he is getting to spend a lot of time with you, so your wedding details will be influenced by him and in some small way he will be there!
And about not being able to go to the other wedding--boy, do I understand that! Send your regards... I ended up having to go home every weekend (4 hours away!) this past month because of wedding stuff for a friend who's not that close, and I kind of felt a little bitter about it.
PS- YAY May 2010 brides!!!!
I'm sorry!!! That's tough. I'm sure your friend will be thinking of you on your special day!
That's too bad! I'm sure your friend will feel like he's there if he helped you pick out the dress. And you can tell him what it success it was w/your FH!
I'm sorry! At least he will be able to give an opinion on your dress. = )
thats disheartening. but at least you were able to invite them. i have to turn friends away because i wont be able to fit them in the room!
I am sorry to hear that. I had something similar happen this weekend while at my cousin's wedding several family members declined in person :( You expect declines but there are certain people that are harder than others.((HUGS))
Aw, that is a bummer. I'd be sad too. I don't look forward to getting the no's :o( I'm gonna be like, "well figure something else out because your attendance is not optional" just kidding... kinda lol.
I don't blame you for not being able to go to the other wedding. I'm sure you're saving up for your wedding and the travel time/cost can be a lot. I imagine your friends will understand. If you can, I'd send them a gift though.

Hi Bees! I'm bummed - yesterday I received my first "decline" from one of my good friends. He had just received my Save-The-Date (we sent them out early since our wedding will be taking place on a holiday weekend). He is a groomsman for his high school friend's wedding taking place on the same day, in Chicago. I know that we will get a certain number of declines, but I was really hoping he and his girlfriend would be there! He's one of my closer guy friends; in fact - he will be there for my appointment at Kleinfeld tomorrow as the sole "guy's opinion." (Every dress he has "approved" for our many formals in grad school have been a hit with FH! Every time I strayed and picked on my own, my FH's reaction was varied, lol). So I'm super bummed!
To make matters worse, FH and I received an invitation for a September wedding of one of our friends - in California! We would love to go, but we were *just* in the same exact area for a wedding earlier this month, and I'm just not sure if we can make another trip out there.
Sorry for the sadness/vent!
