Another bee actually suggested we use the crayola magic markers and write the number on the back of the rsvp card (invisible), this way when you get one without a name you could just use the other side of the marker and see what number it is.. i thought that was pretty brilliant and the guests would never notice!

@MrsNeutrino:

Oh wow and so much cheaper and easier than ordering that black light pen from ebay or amazon or whatever. I’m stealing this!

lol that is so stupid. I mean come on your name isn’t on the outside envelope and if you don’t write your name on the card then how am I supposed to know who you are!! duhhh

Stupid people get saltine crackers and water! 😉

good idea about numbering the cards!!

We wrote the number w/a normal black pen in the top right corner. It’s small, but clear enough for us to read. It definitely helps because not everyone puts a return address label on the envelope.

Aren’t the envelopes return addressed? I return addressed everyone’s envelopes for them… I thought thats just how it worked?

Yeah I did this and it’s been an amazing help!  So far only one blank, BUT I knew exactly who they were!

We numbered ours… and we got an RSVP back… with NO RSVP card in it! – haha!  I played detective using the postmark on the envelope.  My vote is to number your envelopes!! 🙂

I ordered the black light pen and it was only $1.39. I haven’t had any RSVPs come back yet without a name but still a lot more to come back yet. It was so easy to use and you can’t see it at all!

Here is the URL for it in case anyone is interested:
