I had similar issues.  I ended up going with printing:

We have reserved …. seats in your honour

Thank you for your kind invitation

I/We accept with pleasure

I/We decline with regret

Names of people attending

………………………………..

We fill in the number of seats reserved (number of people on the invite!) and then rely on the names section that they fill in to know who’s actually coming.  Hopefully won’t be any confusion.

my invitations are more on the casual side. They read:

_ wouldn’t miss it for the world

_will be there in spirit

🙂

@California_bee:  That is what mine was going to be originally.

However then I keep reading things about people showing up with uninvited guests, bringing kids/not bringing kids, not writing their name on the RSVP (although I heard you can avoid this confusion by numbering the backs of the RSVP cards to your final guest list) so I think having somewhere showing how many seats are reserved and/or the names of the people actually planning to attend the wedding would be good.

@llgraham:  I’m including that as well. Below is a screenshot of what mine will look like, but mine will be coral instead of pink 🙂

@California_bee:  oh I love it! perfect:) I have saved the screen shot for reference. My colors are going to be coral (more the orangey coral then the pink kind, and gold and grey) too!
