I think the wording sounds pretty good (the english, I'm not too good with Spanish). Do you think that everyone will be able to either call or email you?
We're doing email/phone RSVP mainly because of two things. First, to save money on postage and envelopes :) and second because I have two friends who got married last year and both of them told me that very few people sent back the RSVP card and they ended up having to call people after the RSVP deadline to ask if they were attending or not. Since we share the same cultural background (Puerto Rican), I imagine that my family would do the same and not mail back the RSVP card, hence the email/phone thing.
We'd rather do only email and not phone since that way we'd have a written record of who RSVP'd, but some of our (older) guests are not too tech-savvy and don't have email or internet access, hence the phone option.
I'm guessing though that the people who would not mail back an RSVP card would probably also not bother to call/email to let us know their response either, so in any case we'll most likely have to call people in January to confirm... :-\
Do you think the transportation bit is worded ok? I don't know why but it still bothers me a bit...
I hope that an email wouldn't be too hard to send since it requires typing only a few words! I think that the part about the transportation sounds fine to me. Maybe you could put an or in there? Such as if they will be using your transportation or driving on their own? Not sure if that makes it excessively wordy though!
I think the line:
When contacting us, please indicate the name(s) of the person(s) attending, and if you will use our transportation from [hotel] to [ceremony].
should read
When contacting us, please indicate the name(s) of the person(s) attending, and whether or not you will be using the transportation we are providing from [hotel] to [ceremony].
Hope that helps... I think it flows better. :)
Something like...
"When contacting us, please indicate the name(s) of the person(s) attending. Also, please let us know if you will be using our transportation from [hotel] to [ceremony] or if you plan to drive yourself."
Do you think that sounds better? :)
Oooh, nevermind! I didn't see ddubzz's reply before I posted! I really like that much better too! Thank you! ^_^
So then in spanish, that would be...
"Cuando nos contacte, por favor indique el/los nombre(s) de la(s) persona(s) que asistira(n), y si va(n) a usar la transportacion que nosotros proveeremos de [hotel] a [ceremony]."
That does sound better too!

This weekend I wrote all the text for our invites and insert cards. Overall, I'm happy with everything, but the RSVP card wording still bothers me and I don't know why. I've gone through 3 different wordings and I'm still unsure...
What do you think of this RSVP card wording? Is it ok? How would you improve it?

Please email us at [email address] or call us at [phone number] to respond.
When contacting us, please indicate the name(s) of the person(s) attending, and if you will use our transportation from [hotel] to [ceremony].
Kindly reply before January 20, 2010.

The transportation thing is because our reception site (the hotel) and the ceremony site are significantly far away from each other, so we're providing transportation for everyone who doesn't want to drive themselves, so we need a head count.
We also have a spanish version, since our wedding has to be bilingual (my family doesn't speak english), and I'm also unsure about the wording. If anyone here speaks spanish, I'd also love to know what you think of this wording and how would you improve it.
