@MrsSweetT: Hi date twin! We got about 60 people within the couple days before our cutoff date. We still had a couple stragglers that haven’t done anything but I just contacted them and mostly everyone has gotten back to us.

Yes, people suck at RSVPing. We had a ton of people to call after the deadline. Sorry it’s stressing you out 🙁

@MrsSweetT:  See, I’m really forgetful, and I probably missed a few RSVP deadlines before my wedding. After? Hellz no, my RSVP is in the mail as soon as I can get it out! I know the pain now! lol

Ugh. Hate slow replies. Half of our guest list NEVER replied, because “We thought you knew we were coming!”

@MrsSweetT:  I always send them back right away/as soon as I know I can go as well.  I did lose one in our move a couple years ago and told the girl via FB message (and appologized for losing/misplacing her invite).

I’m going to be so impatient waiting for them.  Ours at least have a meal choice to fill in so that people (hopefully) won’t just say ‘we thought you knew we were coming’

We actually had issues with the USPS losing a bunch of our response cards (I only know because some very reliable people told us they mailed it in, and were genuinely shocked when I said I didn’t get it.  They mixed from long-distance to local responses).  ABout 25% of our responses came in the last week.

Just give it some time, and then start following up a little after your RSVP date passes!

@MrsSweetT:  mine will be mailed out by the 17th of Febuary and the RSVP date will either be the 10th of April (which is what’s on the cards now) or the 17th of April – 1 month before (2 weeks before I have to have numbers to the caterer).  My only concern is Easter and people forgetting and holidays etc, I’d almost rather have them due BEFORE the long weekend (which is extra long for postal workers, they get Friday AND Monday).

If you’re mad now, wait until you have to deal with the people who don’t respond AT ALL!!!

I dont understand it at all! Most people send save the dates now, so I always know if I can go before the real invitation even comes. That means I put the card back in the mail the same freakin’ day. I guess I am just OCD.

@MrsSweetT:  I’m hoping for your sake that a bunch trickle in just under the wire (this happened to us) and you only have to manually follow up with a few invitees. One (annoying) thing I learned during this process is that many people don’t think RSVPs are mandatory. We had a bunch of people make hints that they would make it without RSVPing. I felt rude being like, “So are you going to make it or not? If yes, can you please send in that card?” so I had to grin and bear it.
