@chippybee:  To me, it sounds like he is insecure with his own life and marriage, and this is his way of releasing those feelings.  Remember that these type of people point out what they see as the other person’s weak spot (in this case, your happiness!) to take the attention off of them, and their short comings. I would tell him that you don’t appreciate his rude comments, and that you don’t find them funny. Ignore him when he talks to you, he’ll get the picture. Most of all, don’t let him take away your joy!

Maybe he thinks he’s funny. Let him know you’re not the type of person he can joke with and let it go. Some people just have weird senses of humor. Honestly, I would have cracked up and made another comment as his.

Unhappy people make comments like that.

@chippybee:  I think he’s bitter at his own life… have you ever felt like he has any romantic feelings towards you? That’s my only other explanation!

@chippybee:  Learn to ignore things said by people who are not an important part of your life.

Why on earth would you let this jerk affect you?

@chippybee:  I agree with previous posters … It sounds like he has a shitty marriage and has decided to take it out on you.  I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to let his comments bother you.  Just be glad that you’re enjoying your marriage and husband and try to ignore his negativity and bitterness.

Sometimes men think that their sarcasm is widely regarded as humorous. I work with some guys like that who always have some smart ass comment to make, but they are just trying to be funny, or what they perceive to be as funny. They’ve said some pretty inappropriate things in that respect. I just shrug them off. Don’t take that stuff personally.

He sounds like a miserable human being. Try being sarcastic back it’ll probably catch him off guard. He seems very unprofessional.
