- Wedding: March 2013
I’ve posted about my Future Father-In-Law and all the issues surrounding him and money and the wedding. He offered, is being an a** about it now, plus he’s apparently blown through $100,000 and more on girlfriends.
There’s been lots been going on with him, but I haven’t had the energy to type it all out, plus, it’s rather redundant.
But, this new one. This one made me laugh at just…the stupidity.
He gave us half the money for the security of our ceremony and reception venue (he made it a point to say it’s security, so he can have that money back, which is totally fine). He sent a check without waiting tfor us to tell him the best way to get us the money.
Well, it turns out, the venue prefers credit cards (as many needed to make the payment), since it’ll be easier to refund, when it’s time. If we put it all on my credit card, I won’t be able to get the cash back to him, since it’ll just credit my account.
So, we sent an e-mail to Future Father-In-Law explaining this. We said we’ll send back the money he sent so he can put it towards the credit card bill.
And he sends a one line response: Why are you refusing my money?!
We just stared at the computer screen. Where in our e-mail did it say we’re refusing his money? I’m thinking he just stopped in the middle of the line that said, “We’re sending back your money […]” and he didn’t bother to finish the e-mail.
We’ve sent another clarification e-mail saying, no, we’re not refusing your money. Never even implied it (as much as I want to, though!). And we re-explained the process again, breaking it down into even more straight-forward terms.
I just had to share.
