that’s absurd. i shopped alone 90% of the time, because i didn’t want anyone’s opinion.

i would say to complain to the owner. but she is the owner.. so that’s not going to do much. the most you can do is leave a bad review, and tell people to avoid the salon.

MrsJenningsToBe:  Ew. That owner sounds like a biatch. I would be really annoyed too. There is nothing wrong with going by yourself! There are tons of salons out there who I’m sure will be happy to accept your business – even if you’re by yourself!

MrsJenningsToBe:  You are a lot nicer than I woulda been. I woulda placed the dresses on the counter and walked out without an explanation. How freaking rude of her! I shopped for my dress by myself, chose it and before purchasing I took a few family members to see it and they loved it. I didn’t want everyones opinions to affect how I felt about the dress. Sorry to hear this shop wasn’t friendly or helpful especially when its related to your big day!!

Wow, screw that lady.  She was way out of line.  Leave some objective reviews on the usual websites (Yelp, Google Reviews, WeddingWire, etc.) to let other brides know about your experience.

I do not understand why some bridal shop people will act that way, a wedding gown, hell even bridesmaids dresses can be quite the investment, They should be wanting your purchase,  not acting bitchy about it.

You Handled that way better than I would have, so good on you!

I second leaving reviews – and especially on her shop’s Facebook page if they have one (somehow she seems like she’d be the type to not join the rest of us in the 21st century, but hey).

Also, might be tempted to pull a Pretty Woman and walk back in there with the receipt for the dress you bought elsewhere. “BIG MISTAKE!”

Wow!! Having lost my mother just 6 months before my engagement if she would have said that to me I probably would have burst out crying! Thank you for being strong and walking out! Atleast she will think twice about saying that next time!

Wow.  I would tell all my friends and family about how bad & rude the service is there and I would also give bad reviews to them online.  What a bitch.  You can come back like Pretty Woman<br />

Bridal salons in general are weird to me. Especially some with the no pictures until you buy thing. Like, this is a big purchase for me, i want to make sure it looks flattering in photos before i buy it!

I second the whole leaving objective and truthful reviews all over the place so that you let prospective buyers know that their customer service sucks big time!

I also shopped for my dress alone and only showed her until a couple of days before the wedding (and I totally <3 her and we have a great relationship!). Come to think of it I shop alone 90% of the time!

I had a bad experience too! In my opinion you reacted perfectly to that womans rudeness. Well done!!

The owner of the dress shop I bought my dress from was so RUDE. I went for my first fitting a few weeks ago and took the day off work and spent a lot of money travelling back to my home town. I was so excited to see my dress but I was rudely lectured before I could even look at it – told “this is not the play time” and that we shouldn’t take photos.

She then put me in MY dress, pinned it, allowed my mum 5 minutes to take some rushed photos (at our request) and then took me out of it and put the dress away. we were so cross that we went back and were greeted by a WONDERFUL other sales clerk who let me put the dress on again, put me in various veils and urged my mum to take photos galore!
