@Lizzy723: If I was there beside you, I would have decked her! So rude.

I really, truly hate how some people think it’s their business what anyone else in the world chooses to take into their bodies as sustenance. My FMIL has made a few snide comments to me about my weight (“do you really need that extra slice?” when I’ve taken 2; acting shocked when I politely refuse seconds at dinner) and it got to the point where FI apparently spoke privately to her about how it’s none of her concern what I choose to eat. It hasn’t happened since, but woooooo buddy did it make my blood boil.

@Lizzy723:  Seriously, some people are so rude! I used to go to a lot of vegan potlucks when I was vegan. There was one lady there that told me I was a little chubby for a vegan (I’m a street size 4-6). I was very taken aback but sometimes you just can’t take those things personally. I find that people who say those kinds of things are insecure with themselves and for what ever reason saying stuff like that makes them feel better. Just take it in stride and don’t let it shake your confidence!

@Lizzy723:  That’s stupid.  There are women who wear a size 2 who have to “fit” into their dresses.  People purchase dresses too small all the time.  People gain and lose weight all the time.  Not sure why she felt the need to comment on it?

I would have stared her dead in the eye, eaten the rest of the cotton candy in one bite, and then sashayed away.

@Lizzy723:  How rude! But what a great response. I hope she didn’t ruin your appetite – that’s what would happen to me, I think.

@LovelyLee:  Really? I didn’t know vegans are supposed to look like they’re about to die from starvation! lol

@Lizzy723:  How ridiculous! Why do people say that or even think it? It’s not like a wedding dress comes in one size and every bride has to lose or gain weight to fit into it lol

@Lizzy723:  *chuckles* That was an amusing mental image. Sounds like me.

“You’re eating again, Pond?”
*muffled* “I’M HUNGRY!” D;

@Lizzy723:  Ugh. I have written thread after thread about this up to my wedding. As a bride, you will notice that suddenly your choices  and body/weight become PUBLIC fodder for everyone – family and non-family. I’ve had older male coworkers tell me that “I’m probably trying to fit into my dress, right?” Um, what business is it of theirs? I was like you in that I wanted to lose after the wedding, but people would just give me unsolicited advice on what to eat/not eat/etc.. It is unfortunately one of the darker sides to being a bride.

It sucks, but you have to focus on the good and fun stuff of wedding planning and not let it get to you too much. Does your dress fit? Yes. Do you feel good and beautiful in it? That’s what’s important.

@Lizzy723:  people suck. I would have been a total jerk back to her. I would have said  “omg you’re right?! here why don’t you eat it, maybe it will help your breath not smell like smoke and old coffee.”  Im a jerk that way if I feel like someone has insulted me. She needs to mind her own bees wax.

@Lizzy723:  lol.. if Herbalife or any of those things actually worked, every doctor in America would recommend it.  Period.

I hate those things.  I am down nearly 100 lbs from two years ago and people think you can just pop a pill or drink a shake and get major results.  It’s offensive.  You have to work your butt off.

Also, a size 16//18/20 is JUST fine.  You will look beautiful in your dress.  Just check out the plus sized thread on WB.  There are women looking badassed bigger than a 20.  Seriously.
