    I don’t think it’s rude to not create a registry but then I almost always give money.

    Personally I don’t like getting stuff I don’t really need. For example, someone gave me this glass platter and shot glasses recently. They’re nice but I have literally nowhere to put them or any use for them for the next few years as I live in 600sq ft! Right now they’re taking up valuable living space. 

    Asking for money or gift cards on an invitation can be rude.
