I am working on getting lean before my September wedding. If i post daily how much I have run, I will stay on track, and hopefully, reach my goal of 100 miles. Kinda like that movie, Julie and Julia. My one requirement....I must run the entire distance. No walking. I know that walking is great, and can actually burn more calories than running, but i dont want to give myself an excuse to stop when I am tired. I am an all or nothing kind of gal. Gotta go big or go home. Actually, I just need to give myself strict boundaries. Wish me luck!!

(Please let me know if I have made a math error. Thanks!!)

Heres what I have accomplished this week

Date                        Miles Ran                     Miles to go

    Sunday June 5th:        3                                 97

    Monday June 6th         1.5                              95.5

    Tuesday June 7th        1.5                              94

    Thursday June 9th       1.5                              92.5

@Sschaf: Hm. I might have to try this. I'm dog sitting a lab for 3 weeks this summer and he's used to running 3 miles a day, so I think I'd be able to knock some of that out when I have him :) lol

Oooohhh I think I'll do this too!  Sounds like fun :-)  I am a big runner who got sidelined for a while due to some injuries, so I am just getting back into things.  This sounds like the perfect goal.  Thanks for the idea.  Good luck to you!

@Sschaf: haha, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. My heeler and I "run" (read:run at first then gimpy jog/walk thing at the end) 2-3 miles a day. But this lab is no joke, he full on RUNS for 3 miles. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna die. lol

I think that's a great goal for the months leading up to the wedding! I started the same thing on February 19th which was exactly 4 months from my wedding (next weekend...eek!!) and right now I've run over 300 miles! It definitely gets addicting. You can totally do it :) I found that a run really helps minimize my stress too so it's a great thing to get into while planning a wedding!

@Sschaf:Haha seriously it sounds CRAZY but it really is addicting. After I take a rest day or I'm really busy and I can't get my run in I can just feel the stress building! After I run I'm way less likely to freak out over our seating arrangement or RSVPs, etc. It really really helps!

As to running in the hot months....run in the morning. Seriously. It's so worth getting up to get it done because running at any other time is absolutely brutal. Plus once you have your run done in the morning you have more time in the evening for wedding projects or time with your FI :)

I wanna join in!  I'm trying to get myself back in shape, last summer I was running every day but this summer I have yet to get my motivation back.  I ran this morning so I'll start off with that run:

Friday June 10th      ran 2.6 miles      Miles to go 97.4

    Okay Bees,

I was planning on running 1.5 miles yesterday after my soccer game but...

20 minutes into the game I went up for a header against this guy who, as my fiance describes him, was about 6 inches taller than me. We collided heads. He got a knot in his head, I got a gash. So, i spent my evening in Urgent Care, and now I have a large bandage over my left eyebrow.

So, i will be taking a couple days off of running. Which I am actually totally bummed about because I am quite excited to reach the 100 mile mark. And now, I have to worry about covering up a scar for my wedding. At least I feel pretty bab-a$$ about the whole injury ;)

I started running, so my first log:

Saturday June 11th: 7 Miles, 93 miles to go!

@Sschaf: That sucks! No more injuries before your wedding!

Maybe you could try polysporin or something to help heal better/faster.

This is great! I'm going to join you ladies! Right now I have an upper respiratory infection, so that isn't going to help, but I will jump on board as soon as I kick this! Does treadmill running count, or just outdoor miles?

@7SEVENJ9:  I was wondering the same thing myself.  So far I have only counted outside miles (which is what I do when I am training for a race anyway), but I do sometimes run on the treadmill when I'm at the gym.

I haven't been able to start yet, due to illness, but I have a treadmill at home for those really yucky days... anyone know if treadmill miles count?

Good luck!  I just ran my first marathon a week ago, so I know how challenging and fulfilling reaching a running goal can be :)  If you're looking to make the most of your 100 miles and burn the most calories, might I suggest throwing in some intervals?  After running for awhile, your body becomes more efficient at it, meaning that it burns less calories if you run at a steady pace.  But good luck and I can't wait to read about your progress!

I love this idea, but my wedding is a few months after yours.  I think I will join 70 days about 70 days before the wedding!
