Hey guys! I just wanted to start a thread about ROTB Atlanta so we can see who all will be there and try to maybe meet up and possibly help each other out in the craziness! This year I will be there searching for my dress! I'm so excited that it's 3 weeks from today and I don't have that much longer to wait! Also below is what my team will be wearing so we can better id each other! Hope to see some of you guys there!

I am :) We will have a large group there as well!! We're super excited! Here are our shirts... of course each one id's the individual: bride, MOH, BM, MOB, etc!

@MsYellowJacket: thank you! we got them in on Friday and they look great! My shirt is the only one we had personalized so it just has bride on the back. We won't be wearing our shirts until Friday so we will have to discuss how to meet up on Thursday!
I will be attending !!! I'm so very excited !!! I do not have shirts made but would love to get some ...I hope it's not as insane as it's made out to be in articles & videos ! it sounds like so much fun but i'm a little nervous !
@abgib55: it is crazy but don't let that deter you! I went last year as a helper and it was complete chaos but it was soooo much fun! It was so worth it and I just hope to have the same luck this year! 17 days ladies!!!
@pec1216: I'm reconsidering camping out
lol - I think I might go like 1.5 or 2 hours after it opens, do you think this is a mistake??
I went last year. If you want to avoid some craziness, go a little later (like 10:30ish). They have thousands of dresses but really only a couple hundred brides (the rest are helpers). However, mirrors are hard to come by so consider lugging your own full-length with you. Also, fitting rooms are almost impossible, so be prepared to drop your drawers in front of everyone. Including the floor to ceiling windows that face Peachtree St:) Some girls wore slips or swimsuits, which I thought were pretty good ideas. Have fun!!
@MsYellowJacket: no I think you will be fine coming later. The craziness died down last year around 10ish and we finally found her dress at 10:30. Also by then most of the dresses are put back on the racks and kind of sorted. The main reason we're camping out and going early is because my little sis has to be back in town for an appointment and has to leave by 12 so we have a 4 hour window. I'm sure that will be plenty of time but I hate to chance it. Well I hope I still get to see you there!
is it bad that i want to just go and see all of the action? even though i'm already married, i still kind of want to see one!
good luck to you, ladies!
@scissors: LOL...Im thinking that sounds fun. I already have my dress though and I am soooo afraid I will walk out with another!
@scissors: you should come watch the mania! It's crazy! Last year some lady was taken to the hospital in the first 30 minutes! But I think it was dehydration. But if you watch the video from Q100 on YouTube from last year you can see a lady fall at the doors and almost get trampled. I was right there at her when she fell and I thought it was my grandmother so that's another reason we're going early. I do not want to get any of my girls hurt!
@blondilocks: you will be tempted if you come but the dresses are such great deals that you may be able to resell it and pay for your original dress...just saying
thanks for the advice ladies! We will arrive between 9 and 9:30 then!
@scissors: HAHAHA!! I already have my dress and I want to go too just to see the chaos!!!
Love all the shirts!! :)
Can't wait!! I can't believe it's already next week!! I REALLY hope I find something - all my eggs are in this basket!
I know! It's so crazy that I've been planning for this for so long and it's just around the corner! We are soooo excited! I hope and pray I find a dress at this thing or else I'll feel like it was all for nothing.
I thought about going, but already found a dress. I think I will only complicate things if go and start trying on dresses. But you all have fun!
I already found my dress but I work almost directly across the street from Filene's :) I'm thinking about camping out at my office just to watch all the madness haha. Best of luck to you ladies!!!! I've heard of some great dress find stories from this event
@ktisthatbees: you so should! I know last year people were going into the building across the street from us and they were all at their windows watching the madness. Felt like fish in an aquarium! It was funny!
I went to ROTB in Chicago last summer. Let me tell you that it's a madhouse and it's EXTREMELY hard to look for one particular dress. The dresses are all in clear plastic and they aren't notated with size or anything. Heck, half the time you can't even tell what the train situation is or anything until you get it out of the bag. I started to guess based on weight. I avoided the immediate stampede and listened to the advice I got on the website that said coming in a couple of hours later would save you a lot of hassle and there would still be tons of dresses. It was true. Two women i met here on WB came with me. The only thing I'd do over would be to have one more girl and to make sure the girls knew ahead of time the types of things I was looking for. (White vs Ivory/ Strapless vs everything else, etc...) It takes a lot to pull the dresses, change, stake out the spot and keep it, etc so I think having at least 3 people with you is really helpful. It's a war for mirror space inside the store. Don't forget some bottled water and granola bars or something. It gets exhausting after a while and my entourage got really worn out. A little food would have really helped them.
All in all, I found my dream dress in under 2 hours. It was actually a dress I'd bookmarked as a favorite online and didn't realize it until I got home! The fall 2010 season was out and the dress I bought was from Spring 2010 and in perfect condition. I think all the dresses were one season behind so I wouldn't expect to find a dress you have your heart set on that's from the current season. Also, one thing I didn't know before going is that they had an alterations company on site who would help you clamp it if necessary and advise you on what was or wasn't possible. That really helped me make my final decision.
I wound up with a Mon Cheri Dress with a 1300 price tag still on it for 249 plus tax.
Good luck!!!
@clane616: I went to the one in Atlanta last year for my cousin's dress search and although it was crazy, we had a great time and she found a gorgeous dress! It's so cool that you found a dress that you had previously marked! My luck I won't see anything that I recognize. I'm really just looking forward to the bonding time with my family and friends!
I'm going!!!~ My wedding date is kinda set far away, but I can't ignore 95% savings...
I think it also helps that there isn't much pressure to get a dress, and I can just enjoy my long engagement and see what kind of dresses I like.
I'll be looking for a ballgown, so...I'll be there for a while if anyone wants any help finding a dress :)
Only a couple more days ladies! Who's camping out and who's just coming the day of the sale?
One of my BMs will be there. She is getting married in December. But she has decided to just go around 10am
@pec1216: Are you camping out?
@Donnica22: I am camping out. I know it's kind of sad but we live far away and need to guarantee that I find a dress by noon or sooner so my baby sis can get home to practice. We camped out last year and were done by 10 so I'm basing my plan on that logic.
We're going but unfortunately not until after work. Do you think there will be anything left?
Ive heard success stories of people going after work so definitely hit it up!!!
On a side note, I dreamed last night that when I showed up they only had dresses for flower girls and I burst into tears!! Haha! You think ROTB is on my mind much??
LOL that's hilarious!!!!!!! Thanks I will definately go! And hopefully it's late enough to not get trampled!
I know what you mean! I have thought about it all week and my wedding is a lil over a year away!
Make sure you guys come back and post your after-thoughts/experiences along with pics!!
SUCCESS LADIES!!!!! We arrived at 9 am (seven of us) and were done by 11 am!!!!! My aunt was the one who kept finding contenders... I found the first and wanted to keep looking... found one better... wanted to keep looking... tried on the dress I ultimately bought and was done!!!! I knew it was the one after trying on about 20 others gowns!!! 3 people were in line by me to take it if I didn't wanted it... pics to come!! Hope everyone else had success too!!!!
@MsYellowJacket: CONGRATS!! I didn't make it but one of my BMs did (she is getting married in December) she said it was a BUST for her! :(
