I like that it looks more simple when it is spread out. (and it's a plus that it makes less work for you)
Will you use a white (or ivory) table cloth on the day of or something with color?
We are using natural muslin for the tablecloths with a 12" burlap runner down the center. The reception is in a barn too.
I adore your first setup. It is gorgeous and will photograph so well.
I like the second one. The first one feels too much like a wall down the centre of the table to me. Is it possible to get jars a bit lower in height just to add some variation in the size/height of your centrepiece?
We have boxes and boxes of jars so I can definitely mix them up a bit to vary the height. I've been collecting them for months :) Thanks for the idea!
I agree with Bakerella. It would add some visual interest to vary the jar heights so they aren't all even with the flowers.
Also, while the close together arrangement looks nice, I can't help but feel that it creates a wall between you and the person you would be sitting across from, which would make conversation hard.
Definitely the right path though! Also, is that the table number on the very edge? (or just something in the background of the garage?) I would just worry a bit about it tipping off the edge and on to the floor!
Must add, I love the color of the flowers with the burlap :)
@chancehere: Agreed! I love the colour of the flowers, and wrapping the jars in twine is going to look awesome!
@adreynolds: It's going to look fantastic when it's done :) I can hardly wait to see photos of it!
@chancehere:Fantastic ideas! Thank you for the input! The table end will be up against a wall, which is where the number will be, so there will be no chance for it to fall off of the table. The barn is a long skinny rectangle, so there will be a center isle with the tables up again the wall on either side.
I think the first table looks the most complete. I don't think it's necesary to double-up the flowers, and perhaps spread out may look too sparse.
Though, maybe spread out could look less cluttered than the first photo once cutlery and dishes are added... hmm... Maybe try taking the photos with place settings (and favours if that applies) as well? Could give you a better picture...
I think your materials are beautiful!
@lumos: Thank you! With the laid back/casual atmosphere, we aren't including any of those items on the tables. Here's what we ended up going with:

I like the "back" half of the 2nd table. The grouping is looser than in the first pic, but not as wide as towards the front of that table.

So what do you think? Each of the cans will have twine wrapped around them. And the table clothes will be longer on the sides. But it's a start :) [Please excuse my messy garage!!]
