Bamboo? It's not as cheap as paper plates, but it's certainly prettier, and still can be disposable.

I agree with ^ you should definitely go with natural plates. I've seen ones in bamboo, birchwood, and palm leaves.
For the napkins, I'd try to find lace paper napkins (not doilies, which aren't absorbent). I'd avoid anything printed, or highly dyed, if you're going for the rustic look. Just plain white or cream, with a cutout lace border.
These ones were DIY:

Or, roll some white napkins, and make some paper napkin rings in kraft paper.

I second the bamboo plate idea. For our we wedding went with wonderful bamboo plates and saved a bunch on rental costs: http://www.joannehudson.com/disposable-plates-green-dinnerware.html
They looked fantastic and really added to our big night.

Okay so my wedding is going to be rustic themed. Im using Peacock blue, with browns, tans, and creams. Im also using mason jars, wood, burlap and lace. All that great rustic stuff. Finding it has been easy until now. I want the plates and napkins to carry the rustic look as well. Anyone have any suggestions? They need to be disposable and relatively inexpensive. Thanks so much!
