this is my first board post.. so here it goes…
It’s april.. getting closer to my July wedding, and it seems to world is out to get us right now, after struggling for months to ptu everything together after my Fiance got laid off right before Christmas… but we pulled through…
Until yesturday.. When i had to spend they money i saved for my wedding bands on these BEAUTIFUL (my FI thinks so) TIRES!
We live North.. VERY north, and our winter studs have to come off by May 1st, and we just foudn out our other tires have gone to tire heaven.
So I’ll still be able to get a wedding band… but because i’m avidly against financing and being in debt fro anything but my house… it won’t be what I had imagined.. but that’s ok 🙂 stuff happens!!!
Anyone else have to sacrafice because of an unexpected expense??

So sorry for you!
When you look at your wedding band, may it symbolize your wise choice at a couple not to go into debt and to start with a strong foundation. Be proud of that.
Maybe later on in life, you can get another ring to wear with it, and that one could symbolize your success, both financially and as a strong couple.

ahhh.. ya I remember being sad when i wrote this… it got worse! some kid ran a stop sign… and totalled my truck! bent the frame. I’m ok. Sore but OK which is great… not go great for my truck. it got sent for scrap and salvage!… Now i have tires.. and no truck 🙁 All i can is it laugh about it now 🙂 and try to find a new truck for a decent price. It sucks that you really don’t get enough for a wrecked vehicle, specially when it REALLY WAS the other guys fault 🙁
egb- thanks. I’m sure your right 🙂
ej4y8- I really hope your pet is ok!!! OUr dog always creates vet bills because he eats everything. thank god nothing has hurt him yet… even the live wires.. he ate twice!
sctigergirl1- I really hope disability comes through for you!! my dad was on disability most of my life after a series of accidents I know that’s hard!!

Right before xmas my fiance got a nice little letter from the IRS informing him that he owed a large sum of money and that it was going to be coming out of his paychecks from there on out. I freaked out as this was 5 months till our wedding we are paying for everything ourselves. So yes, our honeymoon and wedding bands have been cut back and we have sacrificed alot. We did get on a payment plan, $400 a month but that still hurt us financially. Hang in there. It’s 4 days till our wedding and I am not worried about where we could have gone or the wedding bands we could have gotten, I just can’t wait to stand up there across from him!

I have made a lot of sacrifices in order to save money. Last year, I quit smoking, both because FI wanted me to and because they are so expensive up here. As of this month, to help save money for the wedding, I am eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch every day at work. I am also not buying any new work clothes for spring. We are cutting back on going out and ordering in meals. All of these little sacrifices, plus a few others, will mean that we can pay for our wedding and still have money for a downpayment on a house afterwards, Totally worth it.
