I was just thinking the same thing! Hopefully someone will reply to this
This is an old thread - but i thought I'd update in case others were looking.
I just moved to the Sacramento area and my coworkers recommended an alteration place called the Old Country Tailor. I dropped off my dress to get a hem and a bustle and she estimated it would cost about $80 total!
My coworkers say they are very talented seamstresses and have been using them for years to do very complicated things so hopefully all will be well when I pick up my dress on friday!

Hi all. I've got my perfect dress, but I think I need a couple of alterations--hemming and maybe a little strap adjustment. Does anyone know of a reliable and reasonable place in the Sacramento area for alterations?
