There is a lavender farm near DC. Ask your florist to call them to see if you could purchase it in bulk.
P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE lavender too and I think your idea is wonderful! I hope that you can still do it!
sorry to hear about that, hopefully you are able to find a good substitute. but is it a good idea to use scented flowers in large quantities... not everybody likes the smell of certain flowers, i personally cant stand lavender smell at all so u may have other guests that feel the same way.
Thanks Mrs. Louboutin, but the hot summer has dried up all the lavender around here. I tried a few sources and am feeling discouraged. Plus there is so much else going on!
I am glad we will have a little bit of lavender though---I got some dried from save-on-crafts for the toss. So it will still be a part of the day, though a much smaller part.
Good point, bells. It wasn't going to be TONS of it, just small accents, though.
@sunnydebs: i just googled veronica, and while it is pretty, have you thought about maybe substituting hyacinth? obviously, it doesn't have the same scent as lavendar, but it is closer to the "look".
I used lavendarfanatic.com for dried lavendar. I can't remember how long it took, but they shipped quickly from what I remember.
The crop of lavender this year in Washington state is fine.
There is time for your florist to have some fedexed overnight.
They can just google Washington state lavender farms.

So I planned our whole floral vision around lavender: lavender filled mason jars, lavender wreaths hanging on the church, toss lavender, etc.
The wedding is this Saturday and I just got a call from the florist. They weren't able to find lavender and wanted the OK to substitute another flower called veronica.
I am so sad. Veronica doesn't have the scent lavender has. Veronica isn't nearly as pretty, in my opinion.
The wedding is so close I can't go looking for dried lavender or another option. I am just sad about it and trying not to fret over a small detail.
Can anyone relate? Was there something you had your heart set on that didn't end up happening for your wedding?
