As I wrote in my little introduction last week, the boyfriend wanted to wait until he got his degree before we got engaged. I’ve been so impatient and excited lately because that meant I only had a little over a year left after all this time!
Well when I got home last night he sat me down to look the classes he needs to take before graduating because he spoke to his advisor earlier that day. His first year of college he was an Electrical Engineering major but then changed that his second year to Civil Engineering and basically none of those classes in his first year count towards his degree. Meaning, another two and a half years left until I can even start hoping.
I’m really bummed out today… and not JUST about the engagement thing but now ALL of the plans we had has to be dragged out even further! Our timeline has completely gone out the window.

Awwww MidnightSun that’s so disappointing! I’m so sorry for the sad news. Sigh. It’s always something in our lives, right? Well, look at this way: maybe you can actually start doing some pre-planning, so once the BF graduates, you get the ring, and you won’t have to wait so long after that to get married. Hope WB cheers you up and your day gets better!

Boo… I know how that goes! I feel like I’ve been in school forever! I got my undergrad in 4 years, but now have to get my teaching license, (finishing up 2 years in the spring!) If school was over – I probably would have gotten a proposal by now!!

ooh bother. don’t you hate it when life rears its head like that? i’ve run into the same issue with just getting my guy moved out to my neck of the woods and it’s so frustrating. but maybe he’ll take up some summer classes to help shorten the timeline?

This is why it’s best not to have a “life timeline” or whatever. Timelines can only lead to disappointments.
