- Wedding: September 2010
So, last night I had the opportunity to go to a wedding at Salvage One in Chicago.
I have heard a lot about this spot, so it had a lot to live up to for me.
W O W!!!
From the second I walked in, it was interesting. Doorknobs, mannequin legs, chemistry stirrers… light fixtures made of photo strips of the original Alice & Wonderland, huge concrete pillars worth 22k, the list goes on and on.
The food was buffet style, but perfectly executed. (I don’t mean the “but” in a bad way. I am just the first person to dislike a buffet because I have to stand, lol)
The view was amazing… especially after dark when the skyline was just glowing.
The ceremony was in this little garden area… up on this grassy knoll, if you will.
The bride was radiant and her maids were pretty in blue.
I don’t have enough great things to say about last night… such a happy day.
So anyways, Salvage One is definitely worth checking in to. For those of you in Southern California, it reminds me a lot of The Lab…. same concept, large scale execution.
I only have 2 cons:
It was a little bit warm, especially for the older guests. But not warm enough to cause any problems.
And, when I first arrived, I had a very rude encounter with the people working there… who might even be the owners. Luckily, though, I only saw them a couple of times.
