I'm probably going to be taller and FI isn't happy about it so I can't help you out here unfortunately. Wasn't it rumored that at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's wedding he was standing on something for the formal pictures because she is so much taller than him? I vaguely remember that being a big story.

Personally I would just wear shorter heels :o/  If I wore 4" heels, I would be 6' tall and definitely taller than FI (he's 5'11)  I'm planning on kitten heels.

He notoriously has lifts put in his shoes. I remember I saw a paparazzi photograph where he had black Nikes with these ridiculous heels added to them.

Sorry, I hate Tom Cruise. He turned Katie Holmes into some vacant eyed zombie.

For your sitution though, I'd say go shorter heels for you. It's definitely the option with less hassle.

That's why I went with flats for my wedding!

By the way, at the end of the day, your feet will be thanking you for not wearing 4 inch stillettos!  Yowza... sounds painful for a day when you spend sooo much time on your feet!

He bought himself his OWN black dress shoes. They're about 1/2" taller than tux shoes so it gave him a little boost since i'm 1/2" taller than him anyways =]

    Your feet will hate you

My groom and I are both tall (we're each 6.0'), and I'll be wearing flats. HOWEVER, if I felt like I wouldn't be towering over my groom, I'd be wearing heels. Though for us, being the same height perpetuates our feeling of equality.

Anyhoo, I say screw it. If you love the shoes and don't want to give up wearing them for your wedding, then don't. Wear them and be proud of every inch. If you're not comfortable with the height situation then you could either go with more sensible (FallFlowers is spot on) shoes, or take them to a shoe repair shop and ask the cobbler if it's possible to put a different heel on. I was floored when I realized they could do that!

I would say if it really bothers you wear shorter heals. I kind of do not see the big deal if you guys are the same height though. I might look strange in pics if youre towering over him, but being the same height is not bad.

You're going to be the same height as your groom? Then I say don't worry too much... Who is more uncomfortable with this idea? Him or you?

I'm going to be taller than my groom if I wear anything taller than flats lol. My FI is 5'11 and whenever we go out my heels make me tower over him. My FI doesn't have a beef with my height... he says its hot because other guys check me out. lol you can't really miss the 10 foot tall amazon walking into the restaurant...

I agree with ejs: Your feet will hate you by the end of the night.

FI and I are the same height (well...he's like a half inch taller).  It's totally okay to be the same height (or taller).  I'm wearing flats mostly because I don't wear heels anymore, so I don't think my feet would be happy on the wedding day.

FI is 6 feet and I'm 5'7".   I could wear the highest heels I want (well as long as they're 5 inches or less, haha) and still be shorter than him.  That said, I am looking for kitten heels or heels that are 3" or less for the sake of saving my feet!  I don't think I could survive a whole night (or even just a couple hours) on 4" stilettos!   More  power to you! Surprised

Yeah, I think if I tried to rock 4" heels for the entire wedding, they'd end up kicked over to the corner of the dancefloor about 2 hours into it. :p

You can take your shoes to a good shoe repair man in your town and have him cut the heel an inch. I have done this to my shoes. And everything will be fine with your shoes-while not mess anything up.

Heh...I'm the same height as my groom WITHOUT my heels on! (Neither of us cares...I'm rocking 4" heels no matter what.)

Seriously though...all eyes are going to be on YOU. No one will notice that you can look him in the eye with those stilettos on.

Or, maybe ask him to consider wearing a top hat? That's one easy way to add inches to his height...

My fiance and I are the same height, we're both shorties at 5'5" and I'm wearing what I want, even if it makes me taller.   If anyone has anything negative to say about something so superficial, do you honeslty care about what they think?

I'm 6'3", FI is 6'0".  Although he loves my height, I don't think either of us would be comfortable with me towering over him.

That said, go for it!  As long as you're both comfortable... Rock those heels!
