Yay this is awesome! Last time they had the sample sale, I wasn't ready to dress shop and it sounded so intimidating. Now, I am looking and really want to go. Did you go to the last one? Was it crazy packed?
I did go. there is a line but they will only let about 5-6 brides go in the store @ a time. They give them 15 min to get dresses. Then you could go try them on. I helped my cousin get her dress for $100 a really nice dress.
I attended a sample sale at The Dresser back in August and found my gorgeous Sophia Tolli wedding gown. The dress is in great condition (just a few seams that need re-sewing and a few beads missing). I got a $1000 dress for only $480! It was an exciting experience that I will never forget! With that in mind, here are a few tips: 1. You will have have better luck finding a dress if you know what you are looking for. Definately a fun expeience, but if you don't know what you're looking for could be pretty nerve wracking. The store lets 5-6 brides and their "teams" :) in at a time for fifteen minutes. That's fifteen minutes to look for and try on dresses. Luckily, the store organizes the dresses by size so it's much easier to search through the racks. 2. Bring an entourage. I brought along my Mother, future Mother-In Law, MOH, and sister. Those wedding dresses are heavy, so you will need a team of tough gals that will be able to help you grab as many options as possible for you to try on! 3. Dress accordingly. After a few minutes of pulling dresses, you need to be ready to try them on! Wear your strapless bra and appropriate underwear under your clothes so you don't waste any time in the dressing room. 4. Inspect the dress. If you find a dress you like, make sure you take a good look at it in the light. Make sure the dress doesn't have any damage that can't be easily repaired. 5. Be there early! The sale started at 11 am. My fiance (bless his heart) joined me at 6 am in front of the store. We were first in line, but the line started growing right after we sat down. Bring folding chairs and a magazine or two to keep occupied. The earlier you get there, the better selection of dresses you will have! Most importantly 6. Have fun! This can be a really fun experience you can share with your mom and bridemaids. Try not to get too flustered and don't feel pressured to buy a dress if you don't find the one you love! Best of luck to all the brides out there! Hope this post was helpful!
