I'm not from SD, but I've been to SD and love the beaches! I think a welcome beach bonefire (especially if it was a BBQ) would be awesome! It's a great way to welcome people to the city and set a great tone for the weekend!!! Good luck!
I'm afraid I don't do beach bonfires very often (ever) but I do think that La Jolla Shores would be a great place to have one! I do know that you have to have someone reserve your spot in advance though...
There are only certain beaches that have fire rings, and La Jolla Shores is one of them. Like Miss Burgandy said, you will need someone to go to the beach early and stake out your spot, especially if you are doing a Friday or Sat. bonfire. But, if you are getting married in October, then it won't be as bad as the warmer months.

We are getting married in La Jolla and will be havingnalmost all out of town guests. We were thinking it would be a great to have a welcome beach bonfire on the Friday night before the wedding. Have any SD brides done this or know anything about the regulations of the beaches? Is there a particular beach that would be best to plan it on?? Thanks!
