I'm so sorry to hear this! I haven't heard about this (I'm on the other side of the country)- but what is causing it?? I hope you regain power soon!
from what i hear the main line in from arizona was severed somehow 9they dont know how0 and since were having a heat wave out here it overloaded the rest of the system. south orange county all of san diego and a lot of baja california are totally without power. yikes. the 9 and 0 are supposed to be parenthesis by the way.
Just heard about this on the news. Bad news, especially since it's so hot. Try to conserve the battery on your phone since you won't be able to charge it up (unless, it'll charge in your car). Good Luck!!!
Augh so I can finally type now! My phone let me load this page, log on, and post, but the keyboard wouldn't come up to type - hence the cryptic posts.
San Diego bee here - still no power at home, but my in-laws have solar panels so their downstairs still has power. I feel pretty guilty enjoying their microwave and internet.
I'm surprised there aren't more bees posting on this thread. The power's back on now - ours came on about 3am - but, they're asking us to conserve power all day because the grid is super weak.
I'm a teacher so school was a cancelled today (only the 4th day of the year). It was so strange yesterday! We are not prepared for things like this in So Cal! The worst thing is that the entire county left work at the same time. Not a good idea. I waited an hour and thought it would be ok, but it took and hour and fifteen minutes to get home instead of 25.
I was prepared for a whole day of no power, but since it's already back on before my electronic died...it's no big deal.
We will definitely be hiding a small stash of cash in case of a real emergency. We had about $40 cash between us last night.
@Mrs Green Grass: Yeah, I left work about 30 mins after the power went out and my normal 15-min drive took me an hour.

on my phone posting because 1.4million folks have been out of power for an hour. the entire county of san diego. anyone else dealing with it ...for some reason my symbols arent working when i type too. hmmm.
