Hey Fadedblue! Welcome to San Diego! This is in response to your first post: For attendants attire, I have only checked out one place and it was just so so. My wedding is in May 2009 so I have only begun checking out bridesmaid dresses. I went to Bella Bridesmaids in La Jolla because they have some Melissa Sweet dresses I really like. The store is really tiny, but I had visited their LA store before and I will probably go through them if I decide to buy. Now stuff to do in SD! You guys could go to Old Town and grab margaritas, go to Mission Bay, walk around Encinitas (my hood!), grab a sunset dinner or drinks at Posiden in Del Mar, ect. Hope you are liking San Diego so far!
San Diego bride here too....Just getting started. Haven't even set a date yet...but wedding bee has been quite the eye opener about all I have left to do :) Exciting!
Like FadedBlue I am a new San Dieagan planning a wedding out of state. My finance and I had been living in Brooklyn for years and we moved out here about a year ago so he could attend law school. We are getting married in Texas, where our families are, in May 2009.
I am very excited about the SD board!
Congrats MissRojo! Sounds like you've got things all wrapped up! The Coronado Community Center is a great venue.
We are getting married in Temecula next April at the Falkner Winery. As we live in Colorado, this is a long distance wedding for us. I would love to hear about various vendors in the North San Diego area. Any recommendations for an officiant?
Miss Rojo, does your FH jazz band play at weddings? ;+)
FI lives in San Diego. I am trying to get a job in SD so I can live there too. For now, I just live there part time. We are hoping for a Northern California winery wedding, but nothing's set in stone yet. Even if we have the winery wedding, we will still have another get together in San Diego, so we are still interested in SD vendors and info.
Hey there fellow Diego Brides!! My date is set for 02/07/09 at Corpus Christi Church in Chula Vista followed by the reception at the San Diego Country Club.
Vendors include:
Florist: Flowers by Sandra Alfonso
Photographer: Artistic Designs Photography (Ahelya) She is wonderful and just did our engagement pictures - FABULOUS!!
Cake: Pastry Decadence (They are based out of Scottsdale - My cousin is the head pastry chef)
DJ: Enrique Ortega AKA Riccashay in the hiphop community
Invitations: Some were done by Alltogether Lovely (Tara Nuncio) a local vendor whose work is wonderful and the rest was done by Cottontail Digital who I found on my best friend ETSY!
My Gown as well as the bridal party: Customdressmaking a local designer who's work is to die for.
We wanted the Thursday Club so bad, but our Guestlist was too big! We are thinking of getting a swing band for the cocktail hour... any recommendations would be welcomed!
Four Months and counting... Oh the To-Do Lists! :)
Are there any San Diego brides out there?
