I think it looks like a good deal! I'm getting married next week at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla. We didn't look at that venue (because I had my heart set on the MCASD), but it seems like a steal, if you don't mind doing some of the legwork. For our wedding, we went with Peartrees catering, and their packages come with a wedding coordinator that can do all your rental arrangements, be there to set everything up, etc. She's basically a day-of coordinator, but included in the package. That might be nice to consider if you go with a venue like that that doesn't come with any of the rentals you will need. The contact for that venue sounds a little crazy, but it didn't seem like it stood in the bride's way at all.
@crayfish: Great info!!! Thanks so much! I've been hearing a lot about all-inclusive packages lately... they seem to make the day of easier. So, I'll definitely be looking into Peartrees. And about the bridge club...yes, there a lot of rules!!! The only one that I was kind of bummed about was the "no candles" inside policy. But, there are other alternatives. Other than that, most venues seem to make you get out before 11pm anyway... so, the rental time seems kind of normal. And, I wasn't planning on serving hard liquor either. I went to check out a wedding there 2 weekends ago and it did seem beautiful... the one drawback that I noticed was that since it is in a public place, people were all over the place! They had coordinators to ask people to not walk by while the ceremony was taking place. I was kind of surprised that people would walk by.... I don't know, it seemed kind of rude to me! I have heard that the MCASD is a gorgeous place to have a wedding!!! How exciting! :)
Hello,
I just joined this website, I am planning a wedding at the La Jolla Cove Bridge Club too! I am planning to finalize the details this week and will be planning very quickly to be ready for the wedding in April. If you are still planning the wedding there I would love to hear more about your planning process, vendors for rentals, coordinators etc. I also came up with some ideas for the no candle thing, because I found out it's just the wax they want you to avoid! Hope to hear how it's all going for you! And for anyone else out there planning a wedding at the LJCBC!
Oh, how great! Yes, we definitely have to compare notes... PM me!

Hi bees!
My FI and I are seriously considering the La Jolla Cove Bridge Club for our wedding next year... any thoughts or advice? I've done some research on it and the most helpful info has come from a message board posted by AsianAussie on the knot.com. She got together with some brides that were also having their weddings at the bridge club and they were each other's "day of coordinators"... not at that step in the planning process, but what do you all think?
