I'm a SD native and just recently started planning my wedding, which will be in May 2010 in Yosemite! However, I will be planning the whole shebang from San Diego and doing all my shopping here.

My wedding is October 11, 2009 at Riverwalk Golf Course (right next to Fashion Valley Mall). :)

i'm getting married April 11, 2009 at the LDS Temple in La Jolla and my reception is going to be in my parents' backyard in Encinitas. :)
I'm getting married July 18, 2009 at Paradise Point. It's coming up so fast :)

I'm a San Diego bride planning from DC (one might say I am an SD Bride wannabee). The Lobster and I are getting married in August of 2010. Our ceremony (fingers crossed, because we can't do the raffle until August of this year) will be at Cuvier Park. And the Reception will be at The Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla. So far we have a photographer, caterer and officiant, everything else is still up in the air.
I'm almost done with all my planning! Just a few loose ends to tie up!

It's so nice to see that there are people in this folder! It seems like nothing gets updated around here, though.
What would everyone want to see on our San Diego board? What would compell you to check it every day?
Here are some of the things I think would make me want to check it everyday
Vendor reviews and recommendations;
Classifieds from SD brides selling their items so no need to worry about shipping fees (sort of like Craigslist)
Pictures from SD weddings for inspiration ideas.

I think reviews would be a good idea. Also maybe local events that are happening that could be relevant.
It does help- it seems like I always forget to check the SD section and that there's never a whole lot going on in here!
I'm a SD native, and I'm hoping to have my wedding in early January 2010. I was wondering if anyone is planning to attend the Bridal Bazaar at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on 4/26 (Sunday). I've never been to one of these, so I'm just wondering what to expect. To be honest, I'm most concerned about my dress rather than the other kinds of vendors (photography, invitations, band, etc...) -- is it worth it for me to go?? Or would my time be better spent in bridal dress shops? Thanks, and congratulations to everyone!
I live in San Diego, and am getting married at The Hard Rock Hotel in the Gaslamp. We are really looking forward to it, and love the venue so much!
i don't know how old this thread is, but i'm a san diego bride and oh so excited! i have been living in the bay area for school the past four years (go bears!), but FI and both of our families are in san diego - i'll be moving back in a month!
we don't have any official plans yet, but we're looking at Centennial park in Coronado for the ceremony and the pavillion at my grandpa's Coronado condo for the reception. our date depends on the availability of the pavillion.
i'm sorry i can't make it to the upcoming meet-up, but hopefully we can have another one once i'm back in town.
I'm getting married at the Hard Rock Hotel also! I live in San Francisco, but was born and raised in San Diego and miss it like crazy, so I'm doing all the planning from up here.

OMG, I'm also getting married in my hometown of San Diego (however, living in DC right now just like Lobstergirl!) and just posted a plea to my fellow San Diego brides about planning a beach ceremony!!! Anyone having one? Are there any *affordable* ways to go about it or is the public beach site the way to go?? (My worry is that there won't be ANY element of privacy among the summer crowds). I still haven't set a date or reception venue yet because of this stressful issue around the ceremony...help!
@newlyengd. Look at the San Diego Beach brides post. i posted some options. Not right on the beach, but right over the water. There's always Hotel Del, of course.
I'm getting married at the Rancho Bernardo Inn, which is a great private place to get married that's very elegant. It will be this July, so I'm doing all that I can to plan so that everything is done by then.
We are having our ceremony at the Rancho Bernardo Winery and the reception will be at Pearl Chinese Cuisine Restaurant.

Reception will be at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla

Hi! I'm so excited to finally post on these boards! My fiance and I will be getting married on Dec. 19, 2010! Although we won't be getting married in SD, we've booked our location in Fallbrook (close enough right?) at the Grand Traditions Estate! I'm much looking forward to all the planning!

I'm thrilled that there's an SD bride board on Weddingbee! I've been stalking this blog since way before I was engaged, and now I can finally say that I'm an SD bride. I'm getting married June 19, 2010 at the North Chapel in Liberty Station and having my reception at The Marine Room in La Jolla.
Is there a meetup anytime soon?
